Colour Dare #460 Retired Colours

#CTMHVandra, thank you, Colour dare, grateful, star, circles, retiring, blue belle, peacock, shimmer trim, acrylic, cardmaking, stamping, Stamp of the Month,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #460 is using the recently retired colours, you are free to use Black, White, Silver and gold. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #460 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

I wanted to make a card using the Grateful for This Life—September Stamp of the Month which is really lovely for thank you cards and fantastic for scrapbook album pages.

Even though these colours are recently retired its okay because most of them are still available for sale in some part until stocks run out, which I'm hoping is a little while because I do love lots of the colours that are going.

I grabbed some Pebble Cardstock and cut it at 2 inches x 5.5 inches and stamped on it in Peacock Ink (which is gone but the Peacock Cardstock is still available), I did a second generation shadow stamp with the Grateful from the Grateful for This Life—September Stamp of the Month.

I also stamped the I Am on some Pebble cardstock and trimmed it into a banner shape. Then I used Blue Belle Shimmer Trim cut in half and edged the main grateful word.

To add in some extra colour I used a 1 inch and 1.5 inch circle from Circles Thin Cuts using

Canary Cardstock. Then I used Smoothie Exclusive Inks™ to edge the circles by rubbing the circles directly onto the cardstock. I matted the star from the White Acrylic Stars and matted some Smoothie Cardstock behind it.

To adhere the white acrylic star onto the cardstock I used Dual-tip Multi-bond Glue Pen
and Glue Dots® Ultra-thin Dots. The "for you" was stamped in Smoothie ink as well and then the circle was adhered with 3D foam tape.

    1. Thanks!! I love a bit of shadow to my big solid stamped words. I had fun with the round elements too... I had to balance the card by using two.
