Colour Dare #396 Choose three colours

#CTMHVandra, #ctmhstitchedtogether, Birthday, cardmaking, pop-up, fancy card, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, stamping, 3D, computer, laptop, desk, bunting, dots, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #396 is to choose at least 3 of the colours above. Plus Black, White and all neutrals greys are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #396 and add your entry.

The colours I chose to use were Linen, Charcoal, Peacock and Mint. I decided to make something a bit fancy for my son for his 16th birthday. He knew he was getting a laptop for his birthday but we hadn't purchased it yet so there was no present to unwrap. I wanted him to have a special card to open. When he opened it he was VERY impressed. I am glad to say he really did appreciate my extra efforts to make him this card. I'm so glad he knew I had gone to a special effort for him.

I found a template on Pinterest and then had to come up with measurements myself. The original ideas was found here. This was my working out :) it was messy :)

I started with Linen Cardstock and cut the card 7 inches x 10 inches to get a 7x5 inch card base. My Charcoal Cardstock was cut at 5 inches by 6.5 inches - then I scored it at 2 inch increments with a half inch slot extra for tabs. Then I cut a 2inch wide gap. I scored this on the dark side of the charcoal and then cut drawer fronts from the light side of the charcoal. The drawers were half inch high by 1.25 inches wide and the middle one was 2 inches wide. I sponged the edge of the Charcoal Cardstock drawers with Charcoal Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad.

Then I finished off the drawers with white dots from the Black & White DotsTo make my laptop I cut squares of  Peacock Cardstock and used a corner rounder to round the edges of the "laptop". Then Cut a Linen Cardstock smaller square and rounded it.

I stamped Peacock Exclusive Inks with an older birthday stamp which had numbers and birthday stamps. I freehand cut a "mouse" and curled it over and added a tiny dot of 3D foam tape to have the laptop mouse be 3D. I drew with a black pen some lines for the mouse and some lines for the keyboard (very roughly).

Adhering it all to the linen carstock. I added a back ground from the
Stitched Together Paper Packet  the mint dots. Then I cut a Mint Cardstock large circle for the "mat". To make the banner I freehand cut triangles and stuck them on with 3D foam tape and Mink Twine with smaller white dots from the Black & White Dots.

On the front of the card I used Block Alphabet Thin Cuts and number thin cuts and cut out the Peacock cardstock. Then I used the Stitched Circles Thin Cuts cut out of the same Stitched Together Paper PacketPut up on 3D foam tape.

I then used the Happy Birthday thin cut and created a second card front for a second card front, sticking each tiny bit inside. I love getting two for one.

Colour Dare #394 Shades of Green

#CTMHVandra, #CTMHCentralPark, green, toilet paper, together, cardmaking, Fun, thinking of you, here for you, hearts, Colour dare, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge, monochromatic, National Scrapbooking Month,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #394 is Shades of Green. Using monochromatic greens, Black, White and all neutrals are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #394 and add your entry.

I love the Green challenge so pulled out some old Central Park paper that I've been trying to "scrap my stash" and use up. Then some Clover Cardstock

that you can get on sale this month in the Green Cardstock Bundle

I HAD to use the new "Toilet paper" stamp set from the National Scrapbooking Day Cardmaking Bundle 1its my very favourite stamp set and from the National Scrapbooking Day event held by Close to My Heart this stamp set is THE MOST POPULAR stamp set in the history of CTMH! I really love this! I love that we can make light of the darkness that is the current Global Pandemic!

Its awesome that Close to My Heart Cardstock is double sided. So I stamped on the Clover Cardstock with Evergreen Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on each side of the paper and cut it out with Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors

Then I stamped in Clover Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad for the circle and cut it out with the Stitched Circles Thin Cuts

To stamp the title I stamped on French Vanilla Cardstock
using three colours of inks - First totally stamped with Green Apple Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad, secondly I stamped about half of the green apple covered sentiment with Clover Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad  and lastly along the very bottom  I stamped with Evergreen Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. All three shades on the one stamp. I watched a video on the CTMH Facebook page that demonstrated it recently and I did know this technique, but I haven't done it for so long I thought it was a good time to trial it again with this Colour Dare Challenge.

I stamped the three green inks of the small heart - one in each colour in the gradient (in the corresponding locations, dark bottom, Clover middle and lighter top). Then I trimmed the paper to the size I wanted freehand and used my scissors to cut a toilet paper like edge on it.

I used varying thicknesses of 3-D Foam Tape and Thin 3-D Foam Tape
This made three heights for the three elements. I followed the rule of threes with the heart stamps, the cluster of toilet paper embellishments and I finished off with 3 of the clear opaque looking hearts from the Julep Loose Sequins
I didn't have any bright green ribbons or twines so I was stuck for embellishments on this one. I thought black would be too dark as the darkest colour on this card is Evergreen!

I didn't want to use the cardstock that came with this set cause I had old green to use first but you could totally recreate this card using the lovely embossed papers of this kit. Also I've seen a lot of people emboss their toilet paper and I want to give that a try too but my embossing folders were packed away under a box.

Colour Dare #392 Tic-Tac-Toe

#CTMHVandra, operation smile, Melisa Esplin, thinking of you, Random Stamping, Gold, Colour dare, #ctmh, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, cardmaking, 3D Foam, TicTacToe, purple, Ruby, bling,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #392 is using these lovely colours in the tic-tac-toe - so choose three that go down, across or diagonal.  Black, White and all neutrals are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #392 and add your entry.

I chose the centre of the Tic-Tac-Toe board. I chose Wisteria, Gold & RUby. I used.

Wisteria CardstockWisteria Exclusive Inks™ Stamp PadGold Glitter Paper and Ruby Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and Red Pearls (only White Pearls are available to purchase now... so if you don't have red pearls, you will have to colour your white ones).

I am sending lots of cards to friends who are finding it tough to be in isolation, or lock-down or quarantine (depending on where they are living). So I need to do lots more Thinking of you, sending love, sending hugs, love you always, just for you, hello, and Grateful cards for things they are doing for us while we are also self-isolating.  So I created this card for this challenge to be a Thinking of You card.

The beautiful calligraphy "Thinking of you" is from the Sentiments by Melisa Esplin stamp set.

I did the random stamping with the flower/leaf in the Wisteria Ink and then the little red flowers in Ruby ink. Those stamps are from the You make me Happy stamp set that is the Operation Smile Fundraiser. When you purchase this stamp set, $7 US dollars goes to Operation Smile. A non-profit organisation that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children around the world.
