Colour Dare #442 Choose at least 3 colours

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #442 is a Choose at least 3 colours.  You are also permitted to use Black, White, Greys + Metallic and Glitters. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #442 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).
So join in TODAY!!

I chose Blue Belle, Sapphire & Wisteria as my three colours and the card I ended up with almost looks monochromatic even with these three colours used, so they are a perfect compliment to each other. Plus white is my free to use colour.

I grabbed out my scraps of sapphire print from the Mix-in Paper Packet (Jul–Aug) which is still available to purchase. To put in the middle - I didn't measure the sizes this was literally just scraps.
#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,
Then I grabbed my tiny amount of scraps of blue belle patterned paper from Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet for the top section. The skinny diagonal stripe is a sticker too. I put Sapphire Cardstock on the bottom of the card.

I stamped Wisteria Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad with the Mother Days sentiment from a previous Stamp of the Month and stamped the wisteria onto a white daisy cardstock circle I had already cut (watch out next month for new thin cut circles!! this one is an old retired Thin Cut but I'm sure its a similar size to the new ones!). The heart stamps are also from that stamp set. Its called Time to Celebrate Stamp of the Month S2005 (SOTM May 2020) pictured below.
#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,
The two branches are stickers from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet and I finished it off with white dots from the Black & White Dots embellishments.

I know blues aren't traditionally mothers day card colours but I wanted something that men could give their mothers without being too overly flowery.

I love that this was made with essentially my scraps and leftovers. I love to make cards to use up all the paper I have from each paper pack I hate being leftover with lots of paper.

Colour Dare #396 Choose three colours

#CTMHVandra, #ctmhstitchedtogether, Birthday, cardmaking, pop-up, fancy card, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, stamping, 3D, computer, laptop, desk, bunting, dots, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #396 is to choose at least 3 of the colours above. Plus Black, White and all neutrals greys are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #396 and add your entry.

The colours I chose to use were Linen, Charcoal, Peacock and Mint. I decided to make something a bit fancy for my son for his 16th birthday. He knew he was getting a laptop for his birthday but we hadn't purchased it yet so there was no present to unwrap. I wanted him to have a special card to open. When he opened it he was VERY impressed. I am glad to say he really did appreciate my extra efforts to make him this card. I'm so glad he knew I had gone to a special effort for him.

#CTMHVandra, #ctmhstitchedtogether, Birthday, cardmaking, pop-up, fancy card, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, stamping, 3D, computer, laptop, desk, bunting, dots, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,

I found a template on Pinterest and then had to come up with measurements myself. The original ideas was found here. This was my working out :) it was messy :)

#CTMHVandra, #ctmhstitchedtogether, Birthday, cardmaking, pop-up, fancy card, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, stamping, 3D, computer, laptop, desk, bunting, dots, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,

I started with Linen Cardstock and cut the card 7 inches x 10 inches to get a 7x5 inch card base. My Charcoal Cardstock was cut at 5 inches by 6.5 inches - then I scored it at 2 inch increments with a half inch slot extra for tabs. Then I cut a 2inch wide gap. I scored this on the dark side of the charcoal and then cut drawer fronts from the light side of the charcoal. The drawers were half inch high by 1.25 inches wide and the middle one was 2 inches wide. I sponged the edge of the Charcoal Cardstock drawers with Charcoal Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad.

Then I finished off the drawers with white dots from the Black & White DotsTo make my laptop I cut squares of  Peacock Cardstock and used a corner rounder to round the edges of the "laptop". Then Cut a Linen Cardstock smaller square and rounded it.

I stamped Peacock Exclusive Inks with an older birthday stamp which had numbers and birthday stamps. I freehand cut a "mouse" and curled it over and added a tiny dot of 3D foam tape to have the laptop mouse be 3D. I drew with a black pen some lines for the mouse and some lines for the keyboard (very roughly).

Adhering it all to the linen carstock. I added a back ground from the
Stitched Together Paper Packet  the mint dots. Then I cut a Mint Cardstock large circle for the "mat". To make the banner I freehand cut triangles and stuck them on with 3D foam tape and Mink Twine with smaller white dots from the Black & White Dots.

On the front of the card I used Block Alphabet Thin Cuts and number thin cuts and cut out the Peacock cardstock. Then I used the Stitched Circles Thin Cuts cut out of the same Stitched Together Paper PacketPut up on 3D foam tape.

I then used the Happy Birthday thin cut and created a second card front for a second card front, sticking each tiny bit inside. I love getting two for one.

Colour Dare Challenge #344 Memorial Day Inspiration

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Memorial Day, color dare, happy, Ribbon, twine, dots, stripes, simple,

This week's challenge Colour Dare #344

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #344 and add your entry.

Inspiration Photo - Memorial Day. Use only the colours in the photo to create your artwork. You are free to use Black, White and Browns.

I pulled out some older fundamentals paper and created two similar cards just varying the size of the pieces. Plus some thin ribbon and black twine. Then to finish them off I added 3 white dots from the
Black & White Dots on both cards.

Quick simple cards that look bright and happy. I thought they would be happy mail for someone.

I photographed them on the blanket that I was wrapped in cause it was cold :) We are heading into colder weather in Western Australia.

Paste-fully Creative - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

texture paste, #CTMHVandra, blog hop, technique, hearts, #CTMHBoutique, Boutique, survivor, Ribbon, Cancer Awareness, bling, base and bling, sugarplum, dots,

Welcome to our Paste-fully Creative - CTMH Technique Blog Hop. This month we are incorporating our new pastes and coordinating products to texturize our artwork. This is an International blog hop group and I am in Australia, with lots of my sister consultants in this blog hop in the US and Canada.  If you have arrived here from Tamara Sandwisch then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas for using texture in your artworks and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

The first thing I did was grabbed out my Opaque Matte Texture PastePalette Knives and All-Purpose MatThen I grabbed out the cut out from the Thin Cuts—Shaker Window & Confetti with the heart cut outs that I'd made confetti with before. I used it as a template for my Texture paste. I used the Opaque Matte Texture Paste (White) on top of the Sugarplum CardstockI used the paper cut out circle a few times with the texture paste. It wasn't cut with the stencil so it will be thrown out afterwards, paper can be used as templates but it isn't reusable. I left my hearts pretty thick with texture paste before I removed the template, so it is more textured.

I hadn't gotten out my circut to cut some templates in the stencil so I just cut some holes with a standard single punch hole punch. I used the Opaque Matte Texture Paste onto the Boutique picture my life card (see below).

This month there is a limited time special on the Ribbon Warrior Stamp + Thin Cuts
For Cancer Awareness Month. So I used them to finish my cards.

To finish off my sugar plum card, I put a the Boutique Peacock paper to the left hand side of the card and the Sugarplum with texture paste on 3D foam tape and the survivor circle in 3D. I stamped in Sugarplum and black Ink. The Mink Twine was wrapped around the card with the  Base & Bling Ribbon Charm—Faux Gold (these are in the Clearance section of our websites and match the Ribbon Warrior stamp set perfectly). The charm could be taken off and put on a necklace or bracelet after the card has been given.

I finished the PML card off with the the sticker from the Boutique Complements that I stamped Hope, Courage, Hero and Friends on in Black in. Then I wrapped the card in the Mink Twine with the  Base & Bling Ribbon Charm—Faux Gold tied to it. Put it up on 3D foam tape and put the spotty paper from the Boutique Paper Packet
Got some shadow on the photo.

I love the tea pots and tea cups in this set. I love the thin cuts with the teapot and teacup and teabag. Beautiful Friendship Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts (as shown above).
I found some tea in our tea chest at home that had cute teapots on it, so as part of our consultant swap I decided to make a set of teabag holders as gifts. I've seen a lot of consultants using these to put chocolates in, I decided afterwards it would be good to pop a chocolate in also (if I'd had chocolates I would have given them too), tea and an after dinner mint maybe :)

#CTMHBeautifulFriendship, teapot, tea cups, tea, teabag, sponging, Sponges, Sponge daubers, blog hop, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, Beautiful Friendship, dots, papercrafting, papercraft, bows, thin cuts, hearts,
I cut the cute teapot with the blue dot paper from the set and since the tea bags were orange I used 12" × 12" Tangerine Cardstock to make the strips of paper 3 inchs by 8 inches wide. Then I used 12" × 12" Sapphire Cardstock 3 inches by just over an inch. I bent the tangerine paper around in a tear drop shape with the tea bag sachet in the middle and folded the sapphire cardstock in half and stapled them all together with the Mini Stapler.
Then I cut the sweet NEW Thin Cuts—Stitched Hearts from white daisy cardstock and put them on the teapots and stuck them on the front of the gifts.

#CTMHBeautifulFriendship, teapot, tea cups, tea, teabag, sponging, Sponges, Sponge daubers, blog hop, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, Beautiful Friendship, dots, papercrafting, papercraft, bows, thin cuts, hearts,

The other card I made was a technique in a video I made "Cardmaking with Caroline & Vandra".  I used the die cut teapot as a mask to sponge the lemon ink around the teapot and then raspberry ink and then lagoon ink. After I'd removed the teapot I stamped the outline of the teapot in the space directly inside the sponging edges Then I added black paper surrounds and a thin cut shaped cup. As it was a technique showing card, I didn't put a sentiment on it.

Some Kinda Wonderful Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring this months featured pack called Workshops Your Way® Some Kinda Wonderful Scrapbooking Kit

If you have arrived here from  Nell Ward -nelliebligh then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

We are all creating with the Workshops Your Way® Some Kinda Wonderful Scrapbooking KitThis kit is featured by Close to My Heart in April and is available until the end of the current Seasonal Expressions Ideas Book which is TWO WEEKS FROM NOW (Yes that is panic in my font, only 2 weeks left to get these beautiful things before they're gone for good!!).
Kit contents:
4 – cardstock sheets (4 White Daisy)
1 – Black & White Dots(Z3314)
1 – White Twine (Z3216)

I decided to make a birthday card using the paper from the Some Kinda Wonderful kit and the Sweet Birthday Stamp + Thin Cuts.

I cut a strip of the Some Kinda Wonderful Scrapbooking paper to have just the circles and cut it to fit the 4 1/4" × 5 1/2" White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack card. I cut out four of the little party hats from the Sweet Birthday thin cuts on White Daisy Paper and stamped them with Black Memento™ Ink Pad
I coloured in with my shinhan markers and cut the fourth stamp to fit both the edge "faces". Then I stamped on all the different little faces from the Sweet Birthday stamp set. I stuck it all together with my new favourite adhesive Tombow® Permanent Adhesive.
I sliced a quarter inch strip of the black paper to line the bottom of the faces and stamped Birthday Wishes title from an old stamp set with Memento Ink. I think it turned out really cute!! What do you think?

Next I made some pages using the 4-3-2 pattern that I am teaching at my National Scrapbooking Day workshop coming up in May. I really like this versatile fast formula for getting pages completed so I was having a play with these papers too. Ask your consultant to explain this and give you the cutting guides.

I used the black cardstock to mat my photos (when I get them printed) and they are cut at 4x6 and 3x4 sizes. Once I know what photos I'm sticking onto this page then I'll add my complements and accessories for titles... to complement my photos.

Remember Workshops Your Way® Some Kinda Wonderful Scrapbooking Kit. is only available for a limited time and the seasonal expressions catalogue FINISHES THIS MONTH so make sure you get it soon, so you don't miss out! Go to my website www.vandra.closetomyheart.com.au or your consultants website and order today.

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest projects. I'm really interested to hear what you think about it, so I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop on our Australasian Blog Hop which is Shaunna Richards Passionate About Pages.

Also taking this opportunity to wish all my customers, fellow consultants and anyone who hops onto this blog hop, a happy safe and wonderful Easter break. Kindest regards Vandra
