Colour Dare #462 Pumpkin Patch Colours

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #462 is the colours of the Pumpkin Spice Scrapbooking Workshop Kit in a Tic-Tac-Toe grid (you can choose a row, column or diagonal line (or do all of the squares like me), you are free to use Black & White. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #462 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

I pulled out cardstock in all the colours in the Tic Tac Toe I wanted to use my Slimline Celebration Cardmaking Workshop Kit, specifically the Fishy Greetings stamps and thing cuts and the Circle Cluster Thin Cuts. 

I cut fish and seahorses out of Peach Cardstock, Shortbread Cardstock, 

Paprika Cardstock, Papaya Cardstock and Nectarine Cardstock. Then I cut seaweed in Harbour Cardstock and the circle clusters in Harbour Glitter Paper. 

Such a great way to use up scraps. Also I did some on the light side of the cardstock and some on the dark side of the cardstock. LOVE Close to My Hearts two-toned cardstock for variations like this!!

I pulled out a Slimline Card & Envelope, and put a Mink Cardstock background of 8 inches x 3 inches (the main slimline card is 8.5 inches by 3.5 inches). 

I stamped them with Memento ink (similar to Intense Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad). I also stamped the little schools of fish & little sentiment directly onto the Mink cardstock using the NEW 1" × 1½" My Acrylix® Block.

I used Thin 3-D Foam Tape to pop up all the fish on top of the cluster circles and put the seaweed plants underneath. To finish off I used some Gold Glitter Gems, to use the centre square on the tic-tac-toe board. I'm really happy with how it finished off. 

The only colour I couldn't fit into my card was Toffee so I didn't complete the whole tic-tac-toe board completely!!

I love the look of the Harbour glitter paper in the background of this card. So pretty sparkles!

I did so many fish I decided to do another card as well. Using the Pumpkin Patch papers and Papaya ink for the bubbles on the background and black ink on the sentiment. Pretty happy that I have so many fish stamped and cut in different colours because its really easy next time to just grab a fish and create something without having to get out my thin cuts and inks and bigshot machine. Proactive Cardmaking for the future!!

Colour Dare #388 Easter Inspirational colours

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #388 is using these Easter photo as an inspiration colour wise. Black, White and Greys are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #388 and add your entry. 

While everyone is in isolation or lock-down or whatever insanity seems to be striking the entire world at the moment, I choose to send cards to friends (while our postal system is still working). One of the cards I made for this purpose is to tell people that they are totally awesome. This month's stamp of the month is PERFECT for isolation. There is lots you can do with stamping, colouring and masking. 

I challenge you to make a card and post it to a friend who is in isolation... if you can't get out at the moment. Make and write cards ready for when you can get out to post them. Hey you can even start your Christmas cards early!

I cut a strip of the Seas the Day Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet

at 3.45 x 5 inches. Then I used Black ink to ink the edges of the striped paper. I stamped the fish and the title on a circle with black ink and sponged with a sponge dauber with Canary yellow ink around the edge and along the middle to get some texture. I added the shell and the two heart stickers from the Seas the Day Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet. (I did ink the edge of the bottom heart to see if it could stand out better) with the blue on grey. 

There is a great stamp set that I can't wait to get hold of. That if you're making cards or scrapbooks or journals of your time in isolation or lock-down, then this is the stamp set to order. Its called Let's Stay Home (CC3212). 

Cardstock is on sale, which is a perfect time to sort your stash and work out which colours you are running short of. Then you can do the multi-packs or combo-packs or single colour packs.

A Little Bit of Pun S1712 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Today I would like to share with you my project which features the A Little Bit of Pun—December Stamp of the Month available exclusively throughout December 2017 for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75. 

This month there is a special calendar kit available Through the Year Calendar Kit and I made up the kit and then had lots of scraps left over that I decided to use to make my cards with this months Stamp of the Month - the CUTEST stamp set = there are so many options for these stamps and I loved the Mermaid stamp most so after seeing some ideas on Pinterest and around abouts, I decided to make a mermaid scales card.

I used the second smallest thin cut circle and used some green, yellow, pink (Aka Sweet Leaf Cardstock, Lemon Cardstock and Bashful Cardstock) plus Gold Glitter Paper... The circles were exactly in the three-quarters of an inch on each side. I had to cut more than was pictured because I decided to go up higher than I originally planned. 

I placed the first three circles touching the sides, the bottom and slightly overlapping each other. Then I cut some in half to do the bottom overlapping and the pink bottom corners were a half cut into quarters. The rest were full circles besides down the sides that were half sized, vertical. The bottom halves were horizontal. 

Hint: only put adhesive on the bottom half of the circles to start with - then go back and add glue dots to those that require it after you've finished. 

I added the text We MERMAID to be Friends with 3D foam tape. I stamped in 

Black Memento™ Ink. 

 The second card I made was using the gem stamp on white cardstock using Black Memento™ Ink. I didn't take any progress photos. After I had stamped I then coloured in with Watercolor Pencils the bottom third of the gemstone and spread the colour around using the Shimmer Brush—Clear. The photo doesn't show it but the gemstone is glittering and shimmering. My birthstone is amethyst so I think I'm partial to purples stones :) 

This purple (Pansy Cardstock) is scraps from the Calendar kit also. As is the grey Basics Fundamental Paper Packet leftover from that kit. Added a tiny touch of Silver Shimmer Trim, dovetailed with my Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors and it finished it off nicely.
