I have to say that this is one of my very favourite ranges we've played with in ages. I love the natural look of the papers, fibres, fabric, wood, earthy tones and forest pages. This suits so many of my photos of living in the Perth Hills and doing lots of camping as a Scout leader and being a scouting family. The sentiments are amazing, the stamps of leaves and trees and titles are awesome. Enjoy what myself and all the ladies in this hop have created.

I made up the pages as per the printed instructions but I made a few adjustments because I didn't want to use the large pieces of the sheets as just backing paper cause I wanted to save them and use them for my Monthly Card & Scrapbooking Clubs. The very best pages I wanted to use. So all I did was substitute for other cardstock (or another hint on my 3rd page layout).
For the first page layout (below), I took out the lovely forest pages and used 12" × 12" New England Ivy Cardstock (you can get this paper in Green Cardstock Bundle special pack on sale this month or you can get it in the Fresh Air Coordinating Cardstock) BUT you can ONLY get this forest paper in the Workshops Your Way® Fresh Air Scrapbooking Kit or the Fresh Air Paper Packet. To me its rare and special. To show it just using paper as a backing is also another way of getting the most out of your printed instructions. You could use the templates and cutting guides with other papers too. Thus extending out this kit quite a lot! I certainly have.
I've shown both the sample page (above) and my version (below) . I think I would put in another few photo spaces on the right hand side page when I add my photos to this page because without the trees the top of the second page is a little bare and could easily fit more pics.
For the below page layout 2. I used 12" × 12" Linen Cardstock instead of the patterned paper which had the lovely hessian look paper (see my cards for the hessian paper and why I didn't want it to just be the backing paper hidden from view).
On the 3rd page below I still followed the page layout but instead of cutting a 7.25 inch x 12 inch strip of the wooden look paper. I cut half inch and slightly smaller than half inch strips to put on the pages instead of using the whole 7.25 inch strip on 2 pages (14.5 inches) I used less than a 3 inch strip. So that's a handy hint for making this page. Save yourself heaps of this glorius wooden look paper. I love this paper and would use it again and again.
Please note: I also noticed I photographed the pages around the opposite way to the sample but I think either way works :) Right/Left swap to be Left/Right :)
When I was looking at this range of paper in the catalogue in the lovely tree/leaf/nature featured pack I also purchased the Workshops Your Way® In My Heart Cardmaking Kit because I LOVED the stamp set that goes with it as its all about Kindness. It has instructions and cards/envelopes to make 12 cards with the Fresh Air paper. I cut all those out I will finish them off late. I wanted to make others first that weren't from a pattern.
I made the following two cards using the stamp set with my scraps left over from making the Workshop your Way Scrapbooking pages. An off cut off the wood look, plus the mottled linen look paper, plus a thin off cut off the New England Ivy cardstock. I stamped with New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on the Picture my life card and added the wooden heart. Really happy with this card. This sentiment is what my 10 year old daughter wants to send her Aunty Daena who's moved to the UK, "Always on my Heart and On my Mind". Watch this space Aunty Daena, Missy is going to make you a card with this stamp set (don't tell her I told you)
For my last card, I really love the hessian look paper (as already mentioned) I think that it really looks like fabric. I used offcuts of that, the top is the back of it and the bottom is an offcut of the leaf paper. Then I stamped in New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on the Almond Cardstock and stuck on a wooden star and 3 bronze sequins from the set in the card kit. The green "washi" is actually the offcut from a complement sticker that was a leftover from making my 3rd page layout - the sticker goes across where the small pine cones are. The off cut of that complement fits this card in a unique way. Love to use my scraps productively.
Another stamp set in this range is the Fresh Air—Scrapbooking I made some pages using this stamp set earlier in the month and I really like the Titles in this. Our Incredible Fun Crazy Silly Family - suits my family down to a T.

Wow you have been busy! I actually really like that third layout flipped.
ReplyDeleteI have also designed 4 more cards and 2 gift cards for my card club and 2 more layouts (4 pages) for my scrapbooking club. Plus cut all the kits.
DeleteYour cards are great. I love the hessian too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Georgia. The hessian paper looks so real, like its 3D textured fabric. It's one of those "nobody puts baby in a corner" kind of paper!! ;)
DeleteNice variations on the WYW
ReplyDeleteThanks Shaunna, I just couldn't bear using what I considered the best paper as a backing sheet :)
DeleteLove your cards! And all those layouts! You have been busy!

DeleteLove this versatile paper so much. Layouts look spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI can't take credit for the layouts - I only modified the pattern to steal the hero paper out of it. The Layouts are by Close to My Heart.
DeleteA great collection of projects your club members will be really happy with these everything looks so nice together.
ReplyDeleteThese aren't for my Club members, their layouts and cards are EXCLUSIVE - I don't post photos of those cards or layouts mostly (sometimes for advertising I might post an older set).
