Colour Dare #514 Inspirational Image

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #514 is an inspirational image that you need to choose at least 3 of the colours pictured, plus Black, White & Gold which are free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #514 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

I decided the blue in the water was very similar to the Close to My Heart colour Harbour so I pulled out some Harbour Cardstock. I also noted in the recent flash sale that there was still some of the A Big Thank You Thin Cuts available (now they are very limited and will be sold out soon, so go to my website ASAP if you want to order one). I cut a bit of cardstock into 4.25 wide by 12 inches then cut in half so 2 bits 6 inches tall and 4.25 wide (but the thin cut is thinner than the whole card front so I could have probably cut a 4inch strip). I layered both bits of Harbour and ran it thru my Big Shot once but cut two out.

I sponged them with Mini Ink Blending Tool x3 (for ease of blending.. why not if you have enough might as well use enough).

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

On my first one I did 3 spots of peacock first and then filled in with the lighter colour. On the second One (on the left), I did yellow and orange in diagonal stripes in the centre and peacock on the outside.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

Then I sprayed with water and dripped water onto the distress oxides to give it the water look. I was in a hurry so dabbed off the water with a tissue.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

Then I overlaid the A Big Thank You Thin Cuts  in Harbour Cardstock and it created a quick and effective card. I did think I could put some bling on but I was happy with how it turned out without. Using the sponging techniques it was really easy to create various cards quickly and easily with just varying the distress oxide ink colours. A simple and effective card. Great for replicating for a big event where you need to create LOTS of thankyous.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,
I created this distressing (above) first but the Thank you is not standing out as much as the 2nd one (below). I like the blue on the corners and the bright middle.

Colour Dare #426 Choose at Least Three Colours

MY FIRST POST FOR 2021 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

#CTMHVandra, penguin, thank you, thanks, cardmaking, Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, hearts, peacock, Lagoon, winter, stitched thin cuts, fancy frames, thin cuts, vision board
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #426 is a Choose at least 3 colours with Black, white, Neutrals and Gold Free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #426 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

For me I had some Exciting exciting news. As part of our CTMH Business Builders late in 2020, we had a vision board challenge, to create a vision board with the fabulous inspirational stamp set called Make It Happen, the Perfect Match Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet,  and the new Wood Frame. We had to use a new technique or two that we learned, I used shadow stamping and staining the wooden frame. My vision board WON A PRIZE!! Below is my Vision Board that won the prize. My vision board almost fits this colour dare challenge too because I have the pink and peacock/lagoon colour ink that I used to stain the frame.

This week my prize arrived. I got a beautiful handmade card handwritten by Monica Wihongi (my daughter was as star struck and excited as I was about this card thanks Monica!!) and the Winter Penguins Stamp + Thin CutsMy sister in the UK LOVES penguins, so I have a soft spot for these little cuties.
#CTMHVandra, penguin, thank you, thanks, cardmaking, Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, hearts, peacock, Lagoon, winter, stitched thin cuts, fancy frames, thin cuts, vision board

I HAD to make my card for Colour Dare with this stamp and thin cut set and my favourite two colours Lagoon & peacock (with a touch of pink flamingo). The little penguin is so cute. I cut the penguin in white daisy cardstock and stamped in peacock ink. Then inked up just the heart balloon and stamped that on the flamingo cardstock and fussy cut out to layer it on top of the cutie.

I put the background peacock cardstock, then cut two wavy stitched edges from Fancy Borders Thin Cutsin both sides of lagoon and one in white (in one different thin cut).

I did some stamp surgery and cut the Sliding by to say Thanks (I cut the thanks off). I wanted to split it but also wanted to be able to say other things... sliding by to say Hi; or sliding by to say I love you; or sliding by to say congratulations... etc etc.

I stamped the "Sliding by to say" in peacock and the "Thanks!" in flamingo.

Colour Dare #360 - Tic Tac Toe

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, TicTacToe, flowers, Random Stamping, cardmaking, twine, friendship, #CTMHeverylittlething, Stamp of the Month, hello, thanks,

This week's challenge Colour Dare #360

Choose from these Tic Tac Toe colours - a line along, down or diagonal. Black, White, Silver and Gold are free. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #360 and add your entry.

I chose the bottom line - a choice of one neutral (I chose Heather), with Willow and Lemon.

The Heather is the cardstock backing and the Thick Twine. The Willow Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad is the green title from this months stamp of the Month Random Act of Cardness—September Stamp of the Month  and the Lemon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad I used for random stamping the background in a subtle way with the small lemon flowers. This stamp comes from the Every Little Thing Cardmaking Workshop Kit

I used foam tape for the white cardstock with the Willow title, tombow tape runner for the heather cardstock and glue dots for adhering the twine.

Thanks and Giving SOTM S1810 CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Blog Hop. A group of us have been creating with the "Thanks & Giving—October Stamp of the Month" Stamp set. If you have arrived here from Doris Taylor - Creative Inspirations then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

Today I would like to share with you my projects which feature the Thanks & Giving—October Stamp of the Month available exclusively throughout October 2018 for $29.50 or for just $8.25 when you spend $82.50.
#CTMHVandra, #CTMHBoutique, Boutique, flowers, Thankful, thank you, sugarplum, shaker card, 3D Foam, hearts, thanks, cardmaking, stamping, Sequins, thin cuts, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,
I love this stamp set as its all about Gratitude, giving, being thankful and being at home (my favourite place to be). Plus the flowers, leaves, branches, wreath, house, and arrow are all elements that can be used in many different ways on many different projects. Its a must have stamp set.

I am still loving the Boutique paper packs and the colour of the year is my favourite new thing. Sugarplum! I love it. Also I've been playing with and madly in love with Shaker cards. I've made heaps of them since I got my order with Thin Cuts—Shaker Window & Confetti and Shaker Window Foam & Acetate plus Loose Sequins—Silver.

#CTMHVandra, #CTMHBoutique, Boutique, flowers, Thankful, thank you, sugarplum, shaker card, 3D Foam, hearts, thanks, cardmaking, stamping, Sequins, thin cuts, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,

This card I made using the gorgeous floral paper with the peacock background plus some Sugarplum Cardstock. I cut the base of the thin cut circle in white daisy and stamped it in Sugarplum ink, I filled the heart with 2x the shaker hearts which is about 48 hearts (but I found a few had missed getting inside before I closed it up tight) and a few sprinkles of silver sequins. I put on the acetate cover and stuck the outside cover on using Sugarplum cardstock and Tombow adhesive.

I stamped the Thankful in Peacock ink and the small hearts in sugarplum on white daisy cardstock. I raised it up on the base to the same height as the shaker window with the 3D foam tape from the inside of the shaker card foam.

#CTMHVandra, #CTMHBoutique, Boutique, flowers, Thankful, thank you, sugarplum, shaker card, 3D Foam, hearts, thanks, cardmaking, stamping, Sequins, thin cuts, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge,

The 3D foam adhesive is such a bonus with the shaker cards because you can use the smaller "corner" parts for tricky edges of shapes. See what I mean below with an earlier project.

Fresh Air CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Blog Hop. We have all been creating with the most lovely paper suite Workshops Your Way® Fresh Air Scrapbooking Kit matching complements, kits, stamp sets and ribbon, which is featured this month. If you have arrived here from Shaunna Richards: Passionate About Pages then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

I have to say that this is one of my very favourite ranges we've played with in ages. I love the natural look of the papers, fibres, fabric, wood, earthy tones and forest pages. This suits so many of my photos of living in the Perth Hills and doing lots of camping as a Scout leader and being a scouting family. The sentiments are amazing, the stamps of leaves and trees and titles are awesome. Enjoy what myself and all the ladies in this hop have created.

Item Number: G1152

Product Description

Kit contents:
1 – Fresh Air Paper Packet (X7232B)
1 – Fresh Air Complements (X7232C)

4 – cardstock sheets (1 Almond, 3 White Daisy)
1 – Fresh Air Shapes (Z4185)
printed instructions
photo placeholders

I made up the pages as per the printed instructions but I made a few adjustments because I didn't want to use the large pieces of the sheets as just backing paper cause I wanted to save them and use them for my Monthly Card & Scrapbooking Clubs. The very best pages I wanted to use. So all I did was substitute for other cardstock (or another hint on my 3rd page layout).

For the first page layout (below), I took out the lovely forest pages and used 12" × 12" New England Ivy Cardstock (you can get this paper in Green Cardstock Bundle special pack on sale this month or you can get it in the Fresh Air Coordinating CardstockBUT you can ONLY get this forest paper in the Workshops Your Way® Fresh Air Scrapbooking Kit or the Fresh Air Paper Packet. To me its rare and special. To show it just using paper as a backing is also another way of getting the most out of your printed instructions. You could use the templates and cutting guides with other papers too. Thus extending out this kit quite a lot! I certainly have.
#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,
I've shown both the sample page (above) and my version (below) . I think I would put in another few photo spaces on the right hand side page when I add my photos to this page because without the trees the top of the second page is a little bare and could easily fit more pics.

#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,

For the below page layout 2. I used 12" × 12" Linen Cardstock instead of the patterned paper which had the lovely hessian look paper (see my cards for the hessian paper and why I didn't want it to just be the backing paper hidden from view).

#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,
On the 3rd page below I still followed the page layout but instead of cutting a 7.25 inch x 12 inch strip of the wooden look paper. I cut half inch and slightly smaller than half inch strips to put on the pages instead of using the whole 7.25 inch strip on 2 pages (14.5 inches) I used less than a 3 inch strip. So that's a handy hint for making this page. Save yourself heaps of this glorius wooden look paper. I love this paper and would use it again and again.

Please note: I also noticed I photographed the pages around the opposite way to the sample but I think either way works :)   Right/Left swap to be Left/Right :)

#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,

When I was looking at this range of paper in the catalogue in the lovely tree/leaf/nature featured pack I also purchased the Workshops Your Way® In My Heart Cardmaking Kit because I LOVED the stamp set that goes with it as its all about Kindness. It has instructions and cards/envelopes to make 12 cards with the Fresh Air paper. I cut all those out I will finish them off late. I wanted to make others first that weren't from a pattern.
#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,
I made the following two cards using the stamp set with my scraps left over from making the Workshop your Way Scrapbooking pages. An off cut off the wood look, plus the mottled linen look paper, plus a thin off cut off the New England Ivy cardstock. I stamped with New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on the Picture my life card and added the wooden heart.  Really happy with this card. This sentiment is what my 10 year old daughter wants to send her Aunty Daena who's moved to the UK, "Always on my Heart and On my Mind". Watch this space Aunty Daena, Missy is going to make you a card with this stamp set (don't tell her I told you)

#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,

For my last card, I really love the hessian look paper (as already mentioned) I think that it really looks like fabric. I used offcuts of that, the top is the back of it and the bottom is an offcut of the leaf paper. Then I stamped in New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on the Almond Cardstock and stuck on a wooden star and 3 bronze sequins from the set in the card kit. The green "washi" is actually the offcut from a complement sticker that was a leftover from making my 3rd page layout - the sticker goes across where the small pine cones are. The off cut of that complement fits this card in a unique way. Love to use my scraps productively.

#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,

Another stamp set in this range is the Fresh Air—Scrapbooking I made some pages using this stamp set earlier in the month and I really like the Titles in this. Our Incredible Fun Crazy Silly Family - suits my family down to a T.

#CTMHFreshAir, Fresh Air, camping, wood, fabric, linen, kindness, thank you, thanks, Family, trees, Sequins, relaxing, forest, environment, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, cardmaking, scrapbooking, PML,
