Colour Dare #522 Honey Butter Plus One other colour

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Lagoon, honey butter, glitter, Gold, stamping, get well, cardmaking, clouds, Sun, sunset, cardstock, color dare,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #522 is a Honey Butter Plus one blue (Sapphire, Lagoon or Glacier). All Neutrals free to use and you can use Silver, Gold or Copper in Metallic, Foil, Glitter or Embellishments. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #522 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

I pulled out Lagoon CardstockLagoon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad, and Honey Butter Cardstock. The Lagoon & Honey Butter looked like Clouds and sunshine to me so I pulled out my Under the Weather stamp set to create a Sorry You're Under the Weather card. I wanted to put the sentiment actually UNDER the weather (literal translation!). This stamp set was in a previous catalogue but it is still available online.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Lagoon, honey butter, glitter, Gold, stamping, get well, cardmaking, clouds, Sun, sunset, cardstock, color dare,

So first thing I did with the Slimline Cards & Envelopes was stamp directly onto the Slimline Card base in Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. Then I grabbed the Lagoon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and stamped the rain cloud along above in a downward motion. I used a 3/4 inch strip of Honey Butter Cardstock x 8.5 inches (length of slimline card). then some scraps of lagoon cut at 8.5 inches wide and then torn. I tore the Lagoon Cardstock in three places all in the same direction and then turned one over (so the two shown in my card are the light and dark sides of the lagoon cardstock.

Note: Next time I wouldn't cut my scrap down to 8.5 inches before I tore it... I think if it was a little longer I could have angled the "clouds" more and not lost the stamping underneath as much (I knew I was going to loose some but I think stamping it was still valuable to get the rain showing thru.

I thought we needed a sun to go with the honey butter sunset... so because Gold Glitter was an option for this colour dare I pulled out my Gold Glitter Paper and found a roundish scrap... I think it was the inside of a letter or shape (maybe Gold Glitter sunglasses from one of the kits or a cricut cut inside of an 8 or a D shape?? Its a scrap it doesn't matter where it came from). I did grab my Circle Thin Cuts but figured a scrap was already in a circle type shape that I would just use that. Close enough. I did use the full sheets of Glitter paper for my background in my photo, I do love me some glitter!

Colour Dare #520 - Tic-Tac-Toe Christmas Story Paperpack

#ctmhVandra, Colour dare, color dare, baking, cooking, Christmas, #CTMHChristmasStory, #CTMHFreshlyBaked, silver foil, thin cuts, cookies, Baby, TicTacToe,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #520 is a Tic-Tac-Toe board, with Neutrals free to use. You need to pick the colours in a row or column or diagonal. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #520 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

This colour dare is designed around Christmas Story Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet
#ctmhVandra, Colour dare, color dare, baking, cooking, Christmas, #CTMHChristmasStory, #CTMHFreshlyBaked, silver foil, thin cuts, cookies, Baby, TicTacToe,

I decided to do the Diagonal Harbour, Silver & Scarlet. I had the new Freshly Baked—Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts and I really wanted to use the silver to create a baking wire cooling rack. I pulled out some of the retired Silver Foil paper and a scrap bit of it. I ran that thru my big shot and then stuck it on the Scarlet Cardstock. I ended up cutting it on the diagonal and sticking it on an angle onto the top of my card. (cutting this thru a trimmer was a tricky thing... it messed up a bit and I ended up cutting it smaller than originally intended. If you are going to cut this be careful and maybe cut from the back).

I used normal adhesive to stick the silver foil rack onto the Scarlet Cardstock but I ended up getting adhesive on the front but I figured it looked more realistic to how my own personal baking rack looks with all the cake stuck to it.

As you can see from the picture of the Freshly Baked—Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts there are the cutest little cookies and an icing bag. I cut a few of the cookies and the piping back with White Daisy Cardstock and stamped them with Harbour Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad.
#ctmhVandra, Colour dare, color dare, baking, cooking, Christmas, #CTMHChristmasStory, #CTMHFreshlyBaked, silver foil, thin cuts, cookies, Baby, TicTacToe,

I ended up not using the cookies that I die-cut and stamped... I used the cookie heart stickers from the Freshly Baked Paper Packet Sticker Sheet. BUT... I did use the icing bag. From this stamp set I also used the stamp sentiment of the Cute Cookie but I only stamped on the cute cookie and masked off the one. I stamped that with Harbour ink directly onto the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack card directly.

I finished off the card with a white 1 shape from Cricut to make the sentiment 1 cute cookie. Then I put the sticker cookies around the 1 and I embellished with the cute new Freshly Baked Dots... I think calling them dots is a bit misleading because they're the cutest stars, hearts and dots (this is the new way that dots are coming in the Annual catalogue.

#ctmhVandra, Colour dare, color dare, baking, cooking, Christmas, #CTMHChristmasStory, #CTMHFreshlyBaked, silver foil, thin cuts, cookies, Baby, TicTacToe,
I was happy with how it finished off with those cute little hearts and dots in the Scarlet colour. I hope you like it too. I thought it would make a cute 1st birthday card.

Colour Dare #516 Sangria, Flamingo & Carolina

#CTMHVandra,Colour dare, Flamingo, Pink, blue, Sangria, happy birthday, cardmaking, Succulent, Succa, D2077, stamping,
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #516 is a 3 colours that you need to use (Sangria, Flamingo & Carolina), plus Black, White, Greys & silver which are free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #516 and add your entry. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

I was inspired by the 3 colour panel so with limited time I did a super simple card using the 3 colours as a basis.
The colours Sangria & Carolina have officially retired but you can still get cardstock in those colours and some other products that aren't sold out yet (but don't delay they'll be gone for good soon). Plus we all know our stashes are full of things like this.

I used Sangria CardstockFlamingo Cardstock and Carolina Cardstock I started by cutting them to 4.25 inches long and 2 inches wide and then cut off a sliver of each so they fit (like an 8th or a 16th at a time). I can't work out fractions so looking at my finished item I thought they were the same width but the flamingo is slightly thinner. I folded down the corner to match the picture.

I used Silver Shimmer Trim along the bottom to finish it off. I pulled out my recent purchase of Succa for YouStamp set for the gorgeous Happy Birthday sentiment and stamped with

Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on White Daisy Cardstock scrap. Then I dovetailed it.

#CTMHVandra,Colour dare, Flamingo, Pink, blue, Sangria, happy birthday, cardmaking, Succulent, Succa, D2077, stamping,

A pretty simple and effective card modelled on our Colour Dare Design that wasn't even intended as an inspiration.

Colour Dare #514 Inspirational Image

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #514 is an inspirational image that you need to choose at least 3 of the colours pictured, plus Black, White & Gold which are free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #514 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

I decided the blue in the water was very similar to the Close to My Heart colour Harbour so I pulled out some Harbour Cardstock. I also noted in the recent flash sale that there was still some of the A Big Thank You Thin Cuts available (now they are very limited and will be sold out soon, so go to my website ASAP if you want to order one). I cut a bit of cardstock into 4.25 wide by 12 inches then cut in half so 2 bits 6 inches tall and 4.25 wide (but the thin cut is thinner than the whole card front so I could have probably cut a 4inch strip). I layered both bits of Harbour and ran it thru my Big Shot once but cut two out.

I sponged them with Mini Ink Blending Tool x3 (for ease of blending.. why not if you have enough might as well use enough).

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

On my first one I did 3 spots of peacock first and then filled in with the lighter colour. On the second One (on the left), I did yellow and orange in diagonal stripes in the centre and peacock on the outside.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

Then I sprayed with water and dripped water onto the distress oxides to give it the water look. I was in a hurry so dabbed off the water with a tissue.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,

Then I overlaid the A Big Thank You Thin Cuts  in Harbour Cardstock and it created a quick and effective card. I did think I could put some bling on but I was happy with how it turned out without. Using the sponging techniques it was really easy to create various cards quickly and easily with just varying the distress oxide ink colours. A simple and effective card. Great for replicating for a big event where you need to create LOTS of thankyous.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, Distress Oxide, thank you, thin cuts, color dare, sponging, ranger distress oxide inks, thanks, cards, cardmaking,
I created this distressing (above) first but the Thank you is not standing out as much as the 2nd one (below). I like the blue on the corners and the bright middle.

Colour Dare #512 Fancy Five

#CTMHVandra, Balloon, Congratulations, circles, #ctmhthincuts, cardmaking, #ctmhcelebratingyou, colour dare, Make it from Your Heart, thin cuts,
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #512 is a Fancy Five colours and out of these 5 colours you need to choose at least 3 of them, plus Black, White, Browns & Gold which are free to use. I chose Glacier CardstockDesert Rose CardstockSundance Cardstock and Lagoon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. And can I just bring attention to the really beautiful new stamp pad designs. These are a rolling change so newer stamp sets should come with these new stickers which are SUBLIME! Anyway back to my card...

#CTMHVandra, Balloon, Congratulations, circles, #ctmhthincuts, cardmaking, #ctmhcelebratingyou, colour dare, Make it from Your Heart, thin cuts,

I decided to use Celebrating You Paper Packet which is brand new in the NEW Annual Catalogue, as so many of the colours are a match. I had leftovers from the gorgeous workshop packs Celebrating You Scrapbooking Workshop Kit that is the current special you can find that on my website under promotions tab with the title called "Workshop Wow - Celebrating You". I even used the thin cut that comes in that bundle in my card.

The colours are gorgeous. I picked the balloon paper that I had leftover a 3.75x3.75 inches square. Then I put a 4x4 inch square of Desert Rose Cardstock

I found the template for the card in the Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 4 or Make It from Your Heart Volume 5 (I'm writing this away from my craft room so can't check which card pattern it is right now = I have all the MIFYH volumes!).

#CTMHVandra, Balloon, Congratulations, circles, #ctmhthincuts, cardmaking, #ctmhcelebratingyou, colour dare, Make it from Your Heart, thin cuts,

I cut some Glacier circle quarters (see below)... Square Patterns Thin cuts and used this as a a little embellishment... like a sound shape...

#CTMHVandra, Balloon, Congratulations, circles, #ctmhthincuts, cardmaking, #ctmhcelebratingyou, colour dare, Make it from Your Heart, thin cuts,
This kit is available through to 30th September 2022, while supplies last. Shipping assessed on full retail value of all items. GST included in all prices.

I cut some circles using Circles Thin Cuts with white daisy and some old retired Stitched Circle Thin Cuts in Sundance. I stamped in the Lagoon Ink on the white.

The sentiment Congraulations came from the below stamp set Floral Sentiments

#CTMHVandra, Balloon, Congratulations, circles, #ctmhthincuts, cardmaking, #ctmhcelebratingyou, colour dare, Make it from Your Heart, thin cuts,

After I had photographed the card as it was evening I didn't notice that the backing of the balloon paper was more French Vanilla than White Daisy  so my sentiment and backing White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack look a bit stark against the creamier French vanilla colour.

Finished it off with some Clear Sparkles

Colour Dare #510 Tic-Tac-Toe

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #510 is a Tic-Tac-Toe where you need to choose a Row, Column or Diagonal 3 colours, plus Black, White and neutrals which are free to use. #ctmhvandra, Colour dare, birthday card, 18th, cricut, glitter,TicTacToe,#ctmhBackyardBliss, chicken, cardmaking,
This week's tic-tac-toe colours are based on the gorgeous Backyard Bliss Scrapbooking Workshop Kit colours

I love this set because it has CHICKENS!!!!!!!!!! I love chickens. I have 6 backyard chickens.

I was making an 18th Birthday card for a teenage boy, so pulled out the coloured cardstock for the Top Row - Sapphire, Sage, and Silver (I like the ring to that!).

I also used the woodgrain paper that was available when I made the card but has sold out since. Bummer... Use your stash and find a woodgrain paper or other neutral cardstock for the numbers.

#ctmhvandra, Colour dare, birthday card, 18th, cricut, glitter,TicTacToe,#ctmhBackyardBliss, chicken, cardmaking,

This is a 12x6 piece of Sage Cardstock to create the 6x6 sized card. Then I did the a 5.25 inch square of the Sapphire Cardstock (but I think I might have cut it slightly smaller. Then I cut a 5x5 Silver Glitter Paper to back the Woodgrain paper. The woodgrain was cut with the Cricut and stuck to the glitter with 3-D Foam Tape.

Super simple, easy to re-create card. I hope you like it.

#ctmhvandra, Colour dare, birthday card, 18th, cricut, glitter,TicTacToe,#ctmhBackyardBliss, chicken, cardmaking,
I didn't realise my photo had a shadow of my hand on the bottom right hand corner but I have gifted the card already so I can't take another!
