I am just getting excited to use my NEW Distress Oxide Inks, so I wanted to make a card using the new inks I've never played with before. I pulled out Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot Distress Oxide™ Ink Pads.
I cut some White Daisy Cardstock to 4 x 5.25 inches and started to play.
Spiced marmalade was first. I just rubbed the ink pad all over the paper leaving some some white spaces. Then i sprayed with water and splashed some droplets of water with my Medium Round Waterbrush. In some of the places I wiped the water off with a tissue.
Second part I did the smooshing technique, I put the Black soot and spiced marmalade directly onto the All-purpose Mat and then sprayed some water onto it and then dipped the paper onto it and waited for it to dry. I kept dipping it until I was happy with the finished product. So quick and easy and quite striking.
I was thinking I would use the new Olive Branches Background Thin Cuts but I didn't love how it covered so much of the paper I had created. So I put it underneath to get the nice stitched edge.
This background thin cut was cut with Avocado Cardstock on the light side. I also cut the base star from Avocado Cardstock and the tags and title banner from it as well.
In the end I decided to make a shaker card with my most favourite new product
I love how these also come with small stars and framed stars as part of it. I cut them out of Black cardstock and then used All the pieces on the two cards (all pictured below, the extra star with star cutouts is shown in the photo. I stuck the extra stars on the side with
The titles are from the limited edition Animated Butterfly Kisses Stamp set that is available this month for National Stamping Month promotion.
