Colour Dare #412 Got Candy Colours

#CTMHVandra, #CTMHGotCandy, Colour dare, color dare, Distress Oxide, Animated,Butterflies, friendship, star, cardmaking, National Stamping Month, Challenge, smooshing, ink, watercolour brushes,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #412 is a choose at Least 3 of the colours in the challenge plus Black, White and Gold free to use (no other neutrals). You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #412 and add your entry.

These colours were chosen as they are the colours of the Got Candy? Product Bundle.

I am just getting excited to use my NEW Distress Oxide Inks, so I wanted to make a card using the new inks I've never played with before. I pulled out Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot Distress Oxide™ Ink Pads.

I cut some White Daisy Cardstock to 4 x 5.25 inches and started to play.

Spiced marmalade was first. I just rubbed the ink pad all over the paper leaving some some white spaces. Then i sprayed with water and splashed some droplets of water with my Medium Round Waterbrush. In some of the places I wiped the water off with a tissue.

Second part I did the smooshing technique, I put the Black soot and spiced marmalade directly onto the All-purpose Mat and then sprayed some water onto it and then dipped the paper onto it and waited for it to dry. I kept dipping it until I was happy with the finished product. So quick and easy and quite striking.

I was thinking I would use the new Olive Branches Background Thin Cuts but I didn't love how it covered so much of the paper I had created. So I put it underneath to get the nice stitched edge.

This background thin cut was cut with Avocado Cardstock on the light side. I also cut the base star from Avocado Cardstock and the tags and title banner from it as well.

In the end I decided to make a shaker card with my most favourite new product

Star Shaker Window Thin Cuts with Star Shaker Window Foam + Acetate . (we also have a NEW Heart Shaker window thin cut too).

I love how these also come with small stars and framed stars as part of it. I cut them out of Black cardstock and then used All the pieces on the two cards (all pictured below, the extra star with star cutouts is shown in the photo. I stuck the extra stars on the side with

Dual-tip Permanent Glue Pen and then Gold Loose Sequins that I stuck on with Glue Dots® I was super happy with how my Shaker card came out.

The titles are from the limited edition Animated Butterfly Kisses Stamp set that is available this month for National Stamping Month promotion.

Colour Dare #390 choose three colours or more

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, unicorn, sparkles, faces, cardmaking, diamonds, Random Stamping, stamping, cardstock, color dare, Challenge,
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #390 is using these lovely colours at least 3 or more of the colours. Black, White and all neutrals are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #390 and add your entry.

I chose Peacock (my absolute favourite colour), with Peach and Glacier (light side).

I used the Mix-in Paper Packet X9013 for the pretty decorative blue paper

but I didn't wait long enough for it to dry before I used the pens so the black ran a little. I should have used archival black ink or Intense Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad or Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad
I random stamped the diamond stamps on the peach light side with peach ink using the Unicorn Dreams Stamp + Thin Cuts

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, unicorn, sparkles, faces, cardmaking, diamonds, Random Stamping, stamping, cardstock, color dare, Challenge,
Then I stamped the cute unicorn face and coloured it. I put the peach ink edged around the white and peach squares to have it stand out and the peacock ink around the edges of the peacock cardstock. I did a little pennant banner to finish off. I did put 3D foam tape under the unicorn to have him stand out. The Jade Green TriBlend™ Marker was the closest to the peacock and the Pale Pink TriBlend™ Marker for the ears and cheeks

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, unicorn, sparkles, faces, cardmaking, diamonds, Random Stamping, stamping, cardstock, color dare, Challenge,

Cardstock is on sale, So use the random stamping technique to make fun designs with your cardstock.... This is the perfect time to sort your stash and work out which colours you are running short of. Then you can do the multi-packs or combo-packs or single colour packs.

Colour Dare #368 Horn of Plenty Colours

Colour Dare Challenge, #CTMHVandra, #ctmhHawthorn, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, leaf, stamping, wooden, Challenge, thinking of you,
You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #368 and add your entry.

The Horn of plenty Colours are just like our Close to My Heart Hawthorn Paper Packet. I used the Hawthorn paper packed to make this card. I cut the squares to size using the papers and cut the Multi Square Windows Thin Cuts in charcoal cardstock. I stamped the Hawthorn—Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts but didn't have the thin cuts so fussy cut the leaf - I used the Rock & Roll technique to ink the stamps up using two colours of inks. I stamped the "Thinking of you" from Say It in Style stamp set onto Linen cardstock and cut the cardstock into a pendant. Stuck it on with 3D Foam tape. Some of the squares were a bit tricky to stick down but I managed with not too many gaps.

#ctmhiheartus, #ctmhsomethingfierce, #CTMHVandra, Challenge, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge, Leprechaun, Pot of Gold, St Patrick's Day, St pats,

This week's challenge Colour Dare #332 . This is a Mood Board with the St Patrick's Day Colours. All Neutrals are Free to Use.

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #332 and add your entry.

Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them.

My card was made using the yellow lines from the
I Heart Us Paper Packet
with Clover Cardstock (It even has the right name for St Patrick's Day!)

Then I got a white part over the top and stamped on it with Black Ink and an old Alphabet stamp set. with YOU cut from the Thin Cuts—Block Alphabet  with paper from the Something Fierce Paper & Cardstock Bundle (limited time bundled together). Then I hand wrote the words "to know" with Marvy® Uchida® LePen™ Journaling Pen

I hand cut out the pot with black card stock and some yellow strip scraps for the pile of gold and the opening of the pot. Then i stamped on them in yellow ink with the inside of the flower from the I Heart Us—Cardmaking stamp set (pictured below) to make it look like coins. This card is perfect thank you to give to a friend or person you know so that you can show them how much you care.

Colour Dare #316 Monochromatic Green

Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, #CTMHVandra, Christmas, thin cuts, monochromatic, green, Challenge, easy, quick, speedy, cardmaking,

This week's challenge Color Dare #316 was to use any colour of Green - Monochromatic.

Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them.

So the first thing I did was pull out my scrap cardstock in Greens and then I pulled out my old whimsy fundamentals paper and found the green spotty paper.

I wanted a quick easy replicable Christmas card to start making for the HUNDREDS of Christmas Cards my kids want to write for their school friends this year.

The Cardstock I used to cut the "Merry Christmas" Thin Cut Tree was in a darker green (No idea what its called). Used Thin Cuts—Merry Christmas and then used Bonding Memories™ Dual Action Glue Pen to adhere it together. This adhesive is great for tricky little bits like this.

I didn't have a lot of time but I'm thinking of encouraging my daughter to use bling on the star or coating the whole thing with Shimmer Brush—Clear or Shimmer Brush—Gold

This card is super quick, super easy with the thin cut. Any paper for the Merry Christmas in Green for the tree and any paper in the background to make it look pretty and add some dimension. Then you can jazz it up easily with a coloured star or bling or shimmer brush.

Hundreds of Christmas cards here we come!

Sugarplum, Eggplant & Fern Colour Dare Challenge #313

This week's challenge Color Dare #313 was to use Sugarplum, Eggplant & Fern.

Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them.

For some reason I thought Eggplant was more red so thought red, green and purple-pink... so I pulled out my Fair Dinkum Christmas C1728. This is one of our International Stamp sets that is available in all Close to My Heart Markets but can only be ordered online (ask your consultant). I had stamped the koala, with his  Sugarplum Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad hat and the Fern sentiment before pulling out Eggplant and realising it was more purple than red. Whoops, but I made it work anyway. I stamped the presents with Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the ribbons with Fern Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. I fussy cut out my Koala and put it up on 3-D Foam Tape. I matted with Sugarplum Cardstock and Eggplant Cardstock

Peacock, Kraft & Ruby Colour Dare Challenge #310

My second blog for the design team the Colour Dare Colour Challenge for #310. I found it really interesting that this post is my 110th post on my blog, so those numbers actually line up nicely.

This week's challenge #310 was to use Peacock, Kraft, Ruby with optional Gold.
B1631, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, #CTMHVandra, peacock, Kraft, Ruby, Gold, thinking of you, typewriter, hearts, banner, cardmaking, stamping, Challenge,
Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them (like Kraft is, in this challenge).

B1631, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, #CTMHVandra, peacock, Kraft, Ruby, Gold, thinking of you, typewriter, hearts, banner, cardmaking, stamping, Challenge,
I pulled out my My Type of Note (pic below) stamp set and I used Peacock ink to stamp the typewriter. I LOVE Peacock, its one of my absolute favourite colours. I then inked Ruby to stamp the "thinking about YOU!" sentiment and the love hearts. I stamped all of this on White daisy cardstock and matted it with Kraft Paper on top of a White Card with EnvelopeI also made a pennant banner with the Kraft Paper and used 3D foam tape to give it a 3D finish. I used thin foam tape to matt the white daisy onto the Kraft paper.

To finish the heart trail floating up the card I added small Gold Pearls, as my optional Gold accent. This gold in the pearls really blends in well with the Kraft paper.
