Colour Dare #423 Traditional Christmas

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #423 is a traditional Christmas Colour Challenge. Use primarily ONLY Christmas Traditional colours (reds, greens, golds) and the Neutral Instructions identified on the Inspiration Photo... you are welcome to use any products. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. I needed some quick Christmas cards to go out with my "Vandra's Online Card kits" for Jingle Joy this week. (see below). These are non-traditional cards so better belong in the category for Colour Dare Challenge for #424 which is the non-traditional colours challenge. Both of these challenges are running so make sure you enter both!

To make some quick cards I pulled out my Jingle Joy Die-cuts and some older style heart paper (black & White). I added some green ribbon from my stash to the die-cut Holly Jolly tag and used thin 3D foam tape to lift the tag so the ribbon sat flat (not raised up). 

The black and white heart paper is very similar to the Jingle Joy Paper Packet hearts but I had used most of this in my kits so did some stash busting and used an older style paper. You could recreate this card using jingle joy!

 

To finish off the card I cut out a Gnome for Christmas Stamp + Thin Cuts 

using my bigshot and had fun colouring him in with my Tri-blend markers, green, red and golden yellow for the star (and skin colour for the face). I'm still learning how to do the blending colouring but I was pretty happy with how he turned out. These Gnomes are so cool! I love the funny puns. 

My final card is simple, yet effective and a simple quick card is perfect when you need lots of cards fast! The Jingle Joy Die-cuts are perfect for quick, fast and effective cards.

Colour Dare #424 Non-Traditional Christmas Colours Challenge

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #424 is a non-traditional Christmas Colour Challenge. You are free to use Black, White, Neutrals, Gold & Silver too. You are invited to participate in this challenge. Firstly I pulled out the Mix-in Paper Packet (Nov–Dec) and selected the blue stripe with the blue stars on the back as my main paper for the non-traditional colour choices. 

Then I cut with my big shot and the thin cut and stamped a Gnome for Christmas gnome, and coloured it with Blue Triblend Marker, grey for the beard and skin colour for the skin. 

Then I cut the next thin cuts, Merry Christmas, Christmas bauble and star from the 

Jingle Joy—Scrapbooking stamp set and stamped them all in Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. The Mix in paper matches the baubles perfectly. I coloured a little bit of blue to match in the gnome blue and the sapphire. 

To finish the card off, I adhered the backing, the gnome and the bauble with 

Tombow® Permanent Adhesive and then the Merry Christmas and the star were adhered with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

Colour Dare #422 Serenity TicTacToe

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #422 is a tic tac toe challenge using the colours from the Serenity Scrapbooking Workshop Kit. You are free to use Black, White, Neutrals, Gold & Silver free. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Serenity is my most favourite collection in AGES. Its so pretty and delicate. Within our family we have ordered one of EVERY single thing in the serenity range we all LOVE IT but my order did not arrive in time for me to do the challenge.

For this challenge I pulled out a bunch of things to use with my cards. I pulled out Blue Belle Cardstock, Blue Belle Cardstock and Toffee Cardstock. Then I pulled out Olive Branches Background Thin Cuts from the Background Thin Cuts Bundle and the Stitched Scalloped Brackets Thin Cuts.

I could not decide if I wanted to make the sapphire or the blue belle the main colour so I did one of each. I cut a 4.5 inch strip of each colour and got both parts for both cards out of it. After running the blues through my Big Shot machine, I used scraps on Toffee cardstock to cut the scalloped bracket and I did one light side up and one dark side up to have a lighter one for the blue belle and darker toffee for the sapphire top. 

I stamped in Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad, using stamp set called Sentiments by Melisa Esplin. 

To finish off the card I put Gold Shimmer Trim accross the middle, stuck the sentiments up with 3D Foam tape and put some Gold Glitter Gems on the side. 

I am happy with how they came out and doing them in the same but opposite colours really made them unique but similar.

Colour Dare #420 Shades of Orange

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #420 is a shades of Orange challenge. Use any shade of orange. I grabbed Nectarine Cardstock and cut out with Stitched Lattice Background Thin Cuts.

Then on the light side of the Nectarine Cardstock I cut out  Stitched Hexagons Thin Cuts

I stamped Hello from the Sentiments by Melisa Esplin with Nectarine Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad

I wrapped some orange twine from my stash around with a bow and stuck the stitched lattice to the card with 3D foam tape. 

Then finished the card with some bronze sequins from my stash.

Colour Dare #418 Choose at Least 3 colours

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #418 is a Choose at least 3 colours from the graphic above. You are free to use Black & White and all other neutrals & Metallics. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #418 and add your entry. I chose to use Raspberry, Lagoon & Peacock. I pulled out the Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad, Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad & Stencil Pack 1 and used the Mini Ink Blending Tool to blend the two inks together on white daisy cardstock, using the big flower template.

To finish off the card I cut the Lagoon Cardstock at 4.25x5.5 inches and the Raspberry Cardstock at 4 x 5.25 inches. The white cardstock was 3.75 x 5 inches.

Then I added a strip of Raspberry cardstock 4 x 0.75 inches wide and I stamped Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad using the Happy Birthday from the With All My Love—October Stamp of the Month.

To finish I stuck on a bow using a peacock spot ribbon from my stash.

Colour Dare #416 Comfort and Joy Tic-Tac-Toe

 

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #416 is using the colour palette from the Comfort and Joy collection. You can use Black & White but no other neutrals. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #416 and add your entry. I chose the right hand side New England Ivy, Candy Apple and Gold but the Holly paper from the Comfort & Joy Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet pack also has tiny dots with Scarlet and the holly leaves are avocado so I went across the bottom as well. 

After choosing the Holly paper, Candy Apple Cardstock and New England Ivy Cardstock I pulled out my old (retired) Merry Christmas Tree thin cut and the Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts. I cut out two of the trees (one red and one green) and one large thin cut rectangle in the holly paper. 

I stuck the stitched rectangle frame on one White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack card
and the inside of the frame on the other card. I stuck the trees down with 3D foam tape (cut thin to fit on the lettering). To finish I put a white enamel star (retired) on the top and gold pearls (retired but you could colour current White Pearls with Antique Elements Metallic Markers)

Colour Dare #414 Autumn colours inspiration

 

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #414 is an inspiration photo with Autumn colours. You can use Black, White and all metallics and neutrals. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #414 and add your entry.

I am still playing with my new distress oxide inks and pulled out all the colours that I thought would match this colour inspiration. 

Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink Pad

Candied Apple Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad

Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink Pad

Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink Pad

Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink Pad

Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink Pad

Then I plonked each of the colours down on the All-purpose Mat, 

as shown below. Then spritzed with water. 

Then I put the 12x12 sheet of  White Daisy Cardstock down onto the mat and smooshed it around. 

After the above, I waited a little for it to dry... then added a little extra ink on the mat and spritzed some more water and smooshed it again. This is the finished paper below. 

After it dried a little I cut off 4.5 inches off one side and then cut out with Floral Background Thin Cuts

To finish the simple card off, I put Black Cardstock 4.25x5.5 inches on the cards from the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack using Tombow® Permanent Adhesive. Then  I adhered the front coloured overlay Floral Background Thin Cuts cut out then stuck down with the Dual-tip Permanent Glue Pen.
