Colour Dare #536 Tic-Tac-Toe

#CTMHVandra, thinking of you, cardmaking, butterfly, slimline, stitched thin cuts, Colour dare, wisteria, paprika, pewter, TicTacToe, #ctmhStorybook

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #536 is a Tic-Tac-Toe Board. You need to choose at least 3 colours from the above photo from a row or column or diagonal. You are also free to use all Neutrals and Metallics. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #536 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

These colours are from the gorgeous Storybook Scrapbooking Workshop Kit. I love all the dragons and castles and rainbows and crowns in this set. Its only available while stocks last so make sure you get into this!

To make my card I chose Row 3 - Paprika, Wisteria & Pewter. I pulled out my cardstock in those colours Paprika CardstockWisteria Cardstock and Pewter Cardstock
With the Pewter I used the Slimline Shaker Window Thin Cuts and cut the largest outline and with the Wisteria I cut the inner shape with the wavy edge. Then I adhered them both to the

Slimline Cards & Envelopes

#CTMHVandra, thinking of you, cardmaking, butterfly, slimline, stitched thin cuts, Colour dare, wisteria, paprika, pewter, TicTacToe, #ctmhStorybook
Then I went to my Paper Envelopes with my Paprika cardstock in it and found some scrap strips of cardstock in half inch ish size strips. I put that across the entire length of the Slimline card to create a ribbon look. Then I pulled out my white cardstock scraps and found an old cricut cut out shape that was an oval shape. I think it was from the CTMH Artiste Cartridge but any Cricut shape would do if you want to replicate this card. Then I pulled out my Layered Butterflies Thin Cuts and cut a little butterfly in Paprika cardstock. I've got a thing for butterflies at the moment.

I stamped on the Cricut oval shape with sentiment from Floral Sentiments Stamp Set with

Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. To finish off I used some White Gems from my stash.

#CTMHVandra, thinking of you, cardmaking, butterfly, slimline, stitched thin cuts, Colour dare, wisteria, paprika, pewter, TicTacToe, #ctmhStorybook
Photography was a bit weird with the lighting so I edited a little to make it "cooler" so the wisteria looked to be the right shade. I tried a few times but the colour did not like to be photographed.

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest project. Hope you can join in the Colour My Heart Colour Dare Challenge #536. I'm really interested to hear what you think about my project, so I'd love you to leave a comment. Colour Dare #533 Fancy Five

#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare,

I'm not on the design team for Colour Dare this week (I do even challenges) but I really liked this colour selection of Colour Dare Challenge for #533 so I wanted to make a card using these colours. I chose to use all 5 colours AND I wanted to join the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Sketch 509. So to get both challenges into one card I created a card below.

#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare,

Firstly I pulled out my Stitched Lattice Background Thin Cuts
to get that background shape as shown on the sketch.
#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare,
I cut that with Linen Cardstock on the dark side. Then I cut the Circle Shaker Window Thin Cuts the larger circle in White Daisy Cardstock and the edge circle in Capri Cardstock... and then I decided to put the Capri behind the Lattice so it stood out more. I cut it 4.25x5.5 inches to fit the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack size card.
#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare,

I pulled out all my inks that match the challenge and I didn't have Avocardo ink so I grabbed a similar coloured Distress Oxide ink green colour (I think its currently unavailable or retired).

I pulled out my Floral Sentiments Stamp Set and stamped the "Sorry for your Loss" on the circle. I stuck my circles together and stamped with Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad.
#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare,

Then I stamped the different coloured flowers onto White cardstock and the leaves onto the Linen cardstock. I started with stamping Linen ink on Linen cardstock leaves but they are too light so I used the green distress oxide instead.
I used the linen offcuts to stamp.

#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare, stamping, floral,

Then I stamped the differnet sized flowers in the different coloured inks - Nectarine Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad, Capri Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad, and Glacier Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. Then I fussy Cut them out. I used my scrap white daisy too.

#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare, stamping, floral,

#CTMHVandra, Sympathy, Sorry for your loss, cardmaking, fussy cutting, flowers, stitched thin cuts, circles, Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge, bitty sparkles, Colour dare, stamping, floral,

I arranged the flowers how I liked them and then stuck them all down and added the linen cardstock leaves behind as well.

Then to finish the sketch I added 3 Bitty Sparkles at the top near the sentiment and then 3 below near the bottom leaf. I didn't include the ribbon as it seemed like too much on this card.

Colour Dare #456 Colour Wheel Complementary Colours

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, gold foil, special, glitter, stitched thin cuts, hearts, #ctmhlovely, colour wheel, #ctmhStarsandSparklers, sponging, retiring, Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary, color dare,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #456 is an Colour wheel complementary colours (opposite sides of the colour wheel), you are free to use Black, White, neutrals and gold. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #456 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

I decided to do a Green and Red colour wheel opposites. I had some red colour striped paper leftover from Stars & Sparklers Bulk Paper Packet and some green scraps from Lovely Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet plus I pulled out the Gold Foil Patterns Paper Packet and put a strip on the top of the card front from the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack.

Scrap strip of green Lovely paper (retiring soon)

Small part of gold glitter foil paper (retiring soon)

The red in the Stars and Sparklers is scarlet and I didn't have any scarlet ink so I did some colour matching of other reds in my retiring inks. I also tried the Candied Apple Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad but it was too orange-based for Scarlett. I found that Cranberry was the closest to Scarlet (not exact but close enough). I used the old cranberry to ink the edges of the whole card, then I cut a white daisy Stitched Square Frames Thin Cuts
and sponged all that plus edges of a pre-cut white daisy heart that was in my white scraps.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, gold foil, special, glitter, stitched thin cuts, hearts, #ctmhlovely, colour wheel, #ctmhStarsandSparklers, sponging, retiring, Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary, color dare,
I also found a pre-cut circle in Gold Glitter Paper to place inside the square and used 3D foam tape to adhere the heart to the glitter paper.

I stamped an old sentiment from an old stamp set and cut the white daisy very fine and adhered it directly to the heart.

I'm sad to see so many of my favourite things go from the annual catalogue but I'm excited to see new things coming 1st September!!

Colour Dare #426 Choose at Least Three Colours

MY FIRST POST FOR 2021 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #426 is a Choose at least 3 colours with Black, white, Neutrals and Gold Free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. For me I had some Exciting exciting news. As part of our CTMH Business Builders late in 2020, we had a vision board challenge, to create a vision board with the fabulous inspirational stamp set called Make It Happen, the Perfect Match Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet,  and the new Wood Frame. We had to use a new technique or two that we learned, I used shadow stamping and staining the wooden frame. My vision board WON A PRIZE!! Below is my Vision Board that won the prize. My vision board almost fits this colour dare challenge too because I have the pink and peacock/lagoon colour ink that I used to stain the frame.

This week my prize arrived. I got a beautiful handmade card handwritten by Monica Wihongi (my daughter was as star struck and excited as I was about this card thanks Monica!!) and the Winter Penguins Stamp + Thin CutsMy sister in the UK LOVES penguins, so I have a soft spot for these little cuties.
#CTMHVandra, penguin, thank you, thanks, cardmaking, Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, hearts, peacock, Lagoon, winter, stitched thin cuts, fancy frames, thin cuts, vision board

I HAD to make my card for Colour Dare with this stamp and thin cut set and my favourite two colours Lagoon & peacock (with a touch of pink flamingo). The little penguin is so cute. I cut the penguin in white daisy cardstock and stamped in peacock ink. Then inked up just the heart balloon and stamped that on the flamingo cardstock and fussy cut out to layer it on top of the cutie.

I put the background peacock cardstock, then cut two wavy stitched edges from Fancy Borders Thin Cutsin both sides of lagoon and one in white (in one different thin cut).

I did some stamp surgery and cut the Sliding by to say Thanks (I cut the thanks off). I wanted to split it but also wanted to be able to say other things... sliding by to say Hi; or sliding by to say I love you; or sliding by to say congratulations... etc etc.

I stamped the "Sliding by to say" in peacock and the "Thanks!" in flamingo.

Colour Dare #400 Purple Blue Green

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, toilet paper, magnet, circles, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, National Scrapbooking Month, CC7213, purple, green, blue, Survivor, gifts, papercraft,

The Colour Dare Challenge is up to special number #400.  To enter into this challenge you need to use shades of Purple, Blue and Green in your entry. Plus Black, White and grey neutrals are free to use. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #400 and add your entry.

There are prizes for entering and you could Win!!!

This is a milestone so some of the design team members are working out what their first Colour Dare Challenge blog post was. My first challenge as a design team member was number #309 on 7 September 2018. Let us know when you first entered Colour Dare challenges - it might be today!

Colour Dare Challenge, retired, Fundamentals, thinking of you, Bunches of Love, flowers, floral, #CTMHVandra, Vandra, Challenge, color dare, TicTacToe, challenge, design team, cardmaking,

For this artwork I pulled out a selection of purple, blue and green inks and some green and purple and blue cardstocks and cut Stitched Circles Thin Cuts and Basic Circles Thin Cuts.

I've been wanting to make magnets for all the members of our Bulk Buying group for ages - we buy in bulk as a group to get discounts on items that are usually expensive; to save postage, to help the environment, to save money, get bulk buying powers and healthier items (like free-range, organic, etc). We buy Who Gives a Crap Toilet paper to get a discount on the packs of 10 to save postage, get the bigger discount and save fuel for the delivery driver. We survived the TP crisis that happened a few months ago in Australia - I'm not sure we are over all the restrictions on toilet paper yet but I wanted to acknowledge that our group were #survivors.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, toilet paper, magnet, circles, stitched thin cuts, thin cuts, National Scrapbooking Month, CC7213, purple, green, blue, Survivor, gifts, papercraft,

I used an old real-estate magnet from 2018 and cut it into enough pieces for every circle to have a magnet. I checked that it was enough magnet to hold up the circles, I didn't want it falling off the fridge. Some had extra backing some were just the smaller circle. I did a selection of colours (see list below).
