Colour Dare #360 - Tic Tac Toe

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, TicTacToe, flowers, Random Stamping, cardmaking, twine, friendship, #CTMHeverylittlething, Stamp of the Month, hello, thanks,

This week's challenge Colour Dare #360

Choose from these Tic Tac Toe colours - a line along, down or diagonal. Black, White, Silver and Gold are free. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #360 and add your entry.

I chose the bottom line - a choice of one neutral (I chose Heather), with Willow and Lemon.

The Heather is the cardstock backing and the Thick Twine. The Willow Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad is the green title from this months stamp of the Month Random Act of Cardness—September Stamp of the Month  and the Lemon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad I used for random stamping the background in a subtle way with the small lemon flowers. This stamp comes from the Every Little Thing Cardmaking Workshop Kit

I used foam tape for the white cardstock with the Willow title, tombow tape runner for the heather cardstock and glue dots for adhering the twine.

Colour Dare #356 Silver or Gold

#CTMHVandra, #ctmh, #ctmhcrafton, get well, Colour Dare Challenge, animals, Australian, thank you, shimmer trim, twine, glitter,

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #356 and add your entry.

I have been quite ill this week with a head cold and running nose, tissues were my friend all week. So I decided with this challenge I would make myself a get well card :)

The colours I chose for this card are Raspberry (hot pink) and Pixie (light pink) plus the silver glitter paper.

I used the pink paper from the  Workshops Your Way® Craft On Scrapbooking Kit
for the cute little pink hearts paper and Silver Glitter PaperThe twine was like the current Whisper Thick Twine but in pixie pink. I used 3D foam tape to hold it up and stamped in raspberry. I had to mask the Soon to put it below the Get well to fit the white daisy cardstock I used.

My daughter played along with the same colour scheme and used Little Aussies
stamp set which is really cute. She used a circle thin cut shape to mask the circle and sponged raspberry ink in the circle and stamped over in black ink. then used the hearts to do some random stamping in first and second generation. She finished with some silver shimmer trim! Super cute thank you card.

Colour Dare Challenge #344 Memorial Day Inspiration

This week's challenge Colour Dare #344

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #344 and add your entry.

Inspiration Photo - Memorial Day. Use only the colours in the photo to create your artwork. You are free to use Black, White and Browns.

I pulled out some older fundamentals paper and created two similar cards just varying the size of the pieces. Plus some thin ribbon and black twine. Then to finish them off I added 3 white dots from the
Black & White Dots on both cards.

Quick simple cards that look bright and happy. I thought they would be happy mail for someone.

I photographed them on the blanket that I was wrapped in cause it was cold :) We are heading into colder weather in Western Australia.

TicTacToe "Sweet Girl" Color Palette

Black & White Free - No Extra Neutrals

My Daughters school were having a Mothers Day stall this week and I made a bunch of 3x3 sized cards in this weeks colours in the middle line. Mink, Sapphire & Ballerina. I grabbed mink card stock and the ballerina dots and plaid/gingham scraps I had from some older paper packs including Mixed in Papers from the last catalogue. The Sapphire crosses were from that Mixed in papers too. I used ink from Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ and Mink Exclusive Inks™ for edges and stamping and some light Ballerina Exclusive Inks™ stamping of flowers on some of the cards in the white daisy sections of the card (You'll have to look closely to see them). Then used the grey twine called Whisper Thick Twine  (in the clearance section) and the NEW Sapphire Crochet Thread

The titles are from a bunch of older stamp sets - I grabbed out a few and used them over and over in different ways.

To start with I cut a sheet of 12" × 12" White Daisy Cardstock into two pieces 4x6 size and then cutout ALL the below shapes with the thin cut and my Big Shot .

I pulled out all the featured colours that coordinate with Dreamin Big (as shown on the back of the Zip Strips). Featured Colours: Black, Glacier, Goldrush, Juniper, Poppy, Saffron, Slate, Sorbet, Whisper & White Daisy.

I stamped a few of the colours... as shown above to make up the cards as per the instructions (or close to the instructions).

Then as my most favourite thing to do I modified the cards by turning over the paper and changing up the sentiments and thin cut shapes.

The adhesives I used on my Duck® Easy Stick™ AdhesiveTombow® Permanent Adhesive and for that extra lift 3-D Foam Tape!!

Water Colour Techniques Class

At my weekly Adult Learning Card Making Class I taught them 10 days ago a few fun Water Colour Painting Techniques. Smooshing was everyone's favourite and fun technique. I made a few cards with my sample 4x4 sized Watercolor Paper samples. Using Watercolor Paints with lots of water and paint droplets on sturdy plastic or your 4" × 5" My Acrylix® Blockthen turn it over and SMOOSH the paint onto your paper to create interesting organic designs.

Note: I did mention this technique on the Tea-rrific S1703 CTMH Australasian Blog Hop
See below Mothers Day card also shown on that Blog Hop.

Following on from this theme this weekend I used my watercolour samples and made another similar card using that Tea-rrific—March Stamp of the Month and Workshops Your Way® Sugar Rush Scrapbooking Kit paper.

I used White Twine to add the tea bag tag and used Black Memento™ Ink Pad to to stamp them and my ShinHan markers to colour in the tag. I put washi tape on the back to hold the twine in place.

One of my ladies made the following card at the class with the Smooshing Technique and Balloon Wishes stamp set. She used some 3-D Foam Tape to add dimension to the title. I loved her card so asked if I could take a photo and post to my blog.

Another lady Helen took her watercolour paper home and created cards and brought them back this last Thursday. She did smooshing technique below with 3 or 4 main colours and got a grid sort of smooshed area. She then cut a circle out using a thin cut die (Thin Cuts—Basic Circles are on 25% discount this month). The stamps she used are her own. Again I was super impressed with what she had done with her Watercolour practice piece that I took a photo.

Helen also did the varigated wash sample and stamped the Balloon Wishes stamp at class and then took it home to mount it and stamp the title and butterflies with her own stamps. Such a pretty card she made. I was so impressed with her creation.

I have loved teaching these techniques - along with a bunch of others as seen in the blog hop and other cards I've made.

One of my ladies only comes every second week so I'm looking forward to this Thursday to see what she made with her watercolour samples that she took home to stamp and make into a card.
