Our Colour Dare Challenge for #452 is Candy Apple, Glacier & Lemonade and you are free to use Black, White and silver. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #452 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

I started with an old retired sheet of printed Glacier cardstock that was printed with a coating to give it the subtle shapes. Its just cut 4 inchs x 5.25 inches. Then I cut a strip of red dots 4 inches x 3/4 inch from the Sweet Safari Cardmaking Workshop Kit.

Then I cut a butterfly from the Layered Butterflies Thin Cuts in Lemonade CardstockThe circle Thin Cut was cut in White Daisy and stamped with Glacier Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad using the Congrats stamp from Sentiments by Melissa Esplin, as close to the "top" of the circle as would fit.

Then I trimmed the circle down so it only peeked out. I put the red strip and the circle on before placing the butterfly and then I adhered the butterfly only by the body with 3-D Foam Tape.

To complete the look I used Bitty Sparkles to create a butterfly flight path. To ground the butterfly to the page and not have her floating off into nothingness. A simple but effective card.

Note: We've had really overcast weather so my white is showing a bit pink. Trust me its white daisy cardstock on white daisy card and envelope.

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest project. Hope you can join in the Colour My Heart Colour Dare Challenge #452 too. I'm really interested to hear what you think about my card, so I'd love you to leave a comment. See you again soon, subscribe to my blog so you don't miss a challenge.

  1. What a fun card, Vandra. I love how well all the details in the butterfly stand out. Great use of our colors, too.

    1. So many shadows it made taking photos hard. It does look really dimensional with the 3D tape.
