Colour Dare #522 Honey Butter Plus One other colour

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Lagoon, honey butter, glitter, Gold, stamping, get well, cardmaking, clouds, Sun, sunset, cardstock, color dare,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #522 is a Honey Butter Plus one blue (Sapphire, Lagoon or Glacier). All Neutrals free to use and you can use Silver, Gold or Copper in Metallic, Foil, Glitter or Embellishments. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #522 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

I pulled out Lagoon Cardstock, Lagoon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad, and Honey Butter Cardstock. The Lagoon & Honey Butter looked like Clouds and sunshine to me so I pulled out my Under the Weather stamp set to create a Sorry You're Under the Weather card. I wanted to put the sentiment actually UNDER the weather (literal translation!). This stamp set was in a previous catalogue but it is still available online.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Lagoon, honey butter, glitter, Gold, stamping, get well, cardmaking, clouds, Sun, sunset, cardstock, color dare,

So first thing I did with the Slimline Cards & Envelopes was stamp directly onto the Slimline Card base in Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. Then I grabbed the Lagoon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and stamped the rain cloud along above in a downward motion. I used a 3/4 inch strip of Honey Butter Cardstock x 8.5 inches (length of slimline card). then some scraps of lagoon cut at 8.5 inches wide and then torn. I tore the Lagoon Cardstock in three places all in the same direction and then turned one over (so the two shown in my card are the light and dark sides of the lagoon cardstock.

Note: Next time I wouldn't cut my scrap down to 8.5 inches before I tore it... I think if it was a little longer I could have angled the "clouds" more and not lost the stamping underneath as much (I knew I was going to loose some but I think stamping it was still valuable to get the rain showing thru.

I thought we needed a sun to go with the honey butter sunset... so because Gold Glitter was an option for this colour dare I pulled out my Gold Glitter Paper and found a roundish scrap... I think it was the inside of a letter or shape (maybe Gold Glitter sunglasses from one of the kits or a cricut cut inside of an 8 or a D shape?? Its a scrap it doesn't matter where it came from). I did grab my Circle Thin Cuts but figured a scrap was already in a circle type shape that I would just use that. Close enough. I did use the full sheets of Glitter paper for my background in my photo, I do love me some glitter!

Colour Dare #504 Four Square

#CTMHVandra, cardmaking, gnomes, get well, flowers, Stamp, #ctmhBackyardBliss, hexagon, chicken, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, stamp and thin cut, thin cuts,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #504 is a Four Square where you need to choose at least 3 of the colours, plus Black, White, neutrals, Gold and Silver Free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #504 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc).

Originally I pulled out all my 12x12 Paper Envelopes for Sapphire Cardstock, Sundance Cardstock, Glacier Cardstock and Evergreen Cardstock. I assumed I'd be using Sapphire/Glacier/Evergreen but it ended up being Sundance/Glacier and Evergreen.

These envelopes have my scraps in as well as my full sheets of cardstock so I pulled out all the scraps as well and realised in Sundance I had some pre-embossed hexagon cardstock. I decided to rip it in half and flip it over so I had half on the dark side and half on the light side. Then I tore a sheet of the Glacier too. I had a thin slice of Evergreen to finish it off but also wanted some neutral in there. I pulled out my NEW released Backyard Bliss Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet and found the cute chicken wire green pattern and it went well with the hexagon shapes so I used a 3/4 inch stripe along the bottom.
#CTMHVandra, cardmaking, gnomes, get well, flowers, Stamp, #ctmhBackyardBliss, hexagon, chicken, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, stamp and thin cut, thin cuts,
FYI - I LOVE the backyard Bliss papers because I keep backyard chickens and this set with the chicken wire and the papers of the gardening and the stickers of chickens! Its my perfect set!

Getting back to my card. I cut two of the gnomes from the still available Gnome Matter Stamp + Thin Cuts but instead of using White Daisy I have used Glacier cardstock (one light side, one dark side) which my mum said made them look like Smurfs. I coloured their beards with White Gel Pens, plus the pompom on his hat and the flowers white. Then I used Fair Skin TriBlend™ Marker to colour their noses and hands and Earth Brown TriBlend™ Marker for their belts and shoes. Everything else was left with Glacier cardstock.

#CTMHVandra, cardmaking, gnomes, get well, flowers, Stamp, #ctmhBackyardBliss, hexagon, chicken, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, stamp and thin cut, thin cuts,

The last thing I did before sticking the cardstock down was the title sentiment "Feel Better Soon!" from my favourite card title stamp set that will be retiring at the end of this current annual catalogue cycle its called For All Occasions. Its a must have for all Occasions :) hehehehee, see what they did there. I stamped in Evergreen Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad to bring in the green from the strip at the bottom.

#CTMHVandra, cardmaking, gnomes, get well, flowers, Stamp, #ctmhBackyardBliss, hexagon, chicken, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, stamp and thin cut, thin cuts,
I used Tombow Air Touch Adhesive to adhere everything flat onto White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack cards- although you could totally have put things up on 3D Foam. I also thought about bling but wanted to keep it a little masculine so didn't want to bling it up too much.

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest project. Hope you can join in the Colour My Heart Colour Dare Challenge #504. I'm really interested to hear what you think about my project, so I'd love you to leave a comment. See you again soon, subscribe to my blog so you don't miss a challenge.

Using the peach coloured cardstock from the Mix-in Paper Packet (Jul–Aug)  that is still available - I cut 4x5.25 inches piece to matt under the Multi-circle thin cut. Then I adhered the heart onto the front of the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack

To finish off I used a little Wood Heart. A simple card to send a thinking of you and wishing you get well wishes card.

Colour Dare #356 Silver or Gold

#CTMHVandra, #ctmh, #ctmhcrafton, get well, Colour Dare Challenge, animals, Australian, thank you, shimmer trim, twine, glitter,

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #356 and add your entry.

I have been quite ill this week with a head cold and running nose, tissues were my friend all week. So I decided with this challenge I would make myself a get well card :)

The colours I chose for this card are Raspberry (hot pink) and Pixie (light pink) plus the silver glitter paper.

I used the pink paper from the  Workshops Your Way® Craft On Scrapbooking Kit
for the cute little pink hearts paper and Silver Glitter Paper. The twine was like the current Whisper Thick Twine but in pixie pink. I used 3D foam tape to hold it up and stamped in raspberry. I had to mask the Soon to put it below the Get well to fit the white daisy cardstock I used.

My daughter played along with the same colour scheme and used Little Aussies
stamp set which is really cute. She used a circle thin cut shape to mask the circle and sponged raspberry ink in the circle and stamped over in black ink. then used the hearts to do some random stamping in first and second generation. She finished with some silver shimmer trim! Super cute thank you card.

Dreamin’ Big CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring this months featured pack called Workshops Your Way® Dreamin' Big Scrapbooking Kit.

If you have arrived here from  Doris Taylor Creative Inspirations then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

We are all creating with the Workshops Your Way® Dreamin' Big Scrapbooking Kit. This kit is featured by Close to My Heart in March and is available until the end of the current Seasonal Expressions Ideas Book.

Workshops Your Way® Dreamin' Big Scrapbooking Kit
Kit contents:
1 — Dreamin' Big Paper Packet (X7218B)
1 – Dreamin' Big Complements (X7218C)
4 – cardstock sheets (1 Goldrush, 2 Whisper, 1 White Daisy) or Dreamin' Big Coordinating Cardstock
1 – Dreamin' Big Sequins (Z3315)
1 – Whisper Thick Twine (Z3095)

As part of the instructions for the Dreamin Big Workshop Your Way pack are cards. I cut out and made all the pages and cards as shown in the Instructions which you can find on my website with the Workshops Your Way® Dreamin' Big Scrapbooking Kit.

The cards use the Dreamin’ Big Cardmaking Thin Cuts Bundle. This is an awesome bundle to purchase this month because Close to My Heart are having a sale on Thin Cuts and Thin Cut Bundles. They are 25% off this month only. Usually $36.50 and this month only $27.38.
To start with I cut a sheet of 12" × 12" White Daisy Cardstock into two pieces 4x6 size and then cutout ALL the below shapes with the thin cut and my Big Shot .

I pulled out all the featured colours that coordinate with Dreamin Big (as shown on the back of the Zip Strips). Featured Colours: Black, Glacier, Goldrush, Juniper, Poppy, Saffron, Slate, Sorbet, Whisper & White Daisy.

I stamped a few of the colours... as shown above to make up the cards as per the instructions (or close to the instructions).

Then as my most favourite thing to do I modified the cards by turning over the paper and changing up the sentiments and thin cut shapes.

The adhesives I used on my Duck® Easy Stick™ Adhesive, Tombow® Permanent Adhesive and for that extra lift 3-D Foam Tape!!

Remember Workshops Your Way® Dreamin' Big Scrapbooking Kit  is only available for a limited time so make sure you get it soon, so you don't miss out! Go to my website www.vandra.closetomyheart.com.au or your consultants website and order today.
