Sunny Thoughts S1802 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog

Today I would like to share with you my project which features the Sunny Thoughts—February Stamp of the Month available exclusively throughout February 2018 for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75. 

The first image that spoke to me was the "You are the Sunshine in my Pocket" and I wanted to make a Pocket with this stamp set. I decided I needed a Denim look paper, so I pulled out the Enchantment Fundamental Paper Packet with the sapphire A shaped triangle things. and I cut a square and then trimmed the bottom into a point (like a reverse banner). to make a pocket shape. I then matted it in White Daisy Cardstock. I used Sapphire Cardstock to matt the whole white daisy card with a small edge of white. 

I cut the circle with my Thin Cuts—Basic Circles and stamped the you are the Sunshine in my pocket in Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. I added it to the front with 3-D Foam Tape. I used a gold thin pen (like Metallics Markers) for the stitching and 2 white enamel dots (from the Grey Gems) for studs. Stuck it all together with Duck® Easy Stick™ Adhesive Pack.  

Apologies for my photos - I had to take the photos at night because I've been working late and had no time to take daylight photos. I really want to get myself a light box for photography so I can take photos at night or anytime of the day and have them look nice. 

Anyway...I hope you like them. 

Note: While I was making this card my sister started singing the song "I've got a pocketful of Sunshine" and its very catchy and we couldn't stop singing over and over "I've got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine!!"... (I had to put the video here too so you could all have it stuck in your heads too). Link to YouTube. 

The next card I made was using up scraps of Chelsea Gardens Paper Packet and the white scrap cut in a banner from the opposite of the piece I cut for the pocket card (easy and no waste!). I put my scraps of Chelsea Gardens to cover the whole base of the White Cards (Plus Envelopes) Value Pack (the grey is from the Basics Fundamental Paper Packet Paper) and then I stamped Thanks with Charcoal Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the stamped the flowers in Heather Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. 

I also used the Heather to go around the edge of the banner too. Then adhered it with 

3-D Foam Tape, finishing it off with some Grey Gems.

This is a beautiful set of papers and stickers, stamps and complements -I could make hundreds of things out of this paper, its restful, classic and stunning. I've loved everything that I've seen created with it so far!

 

Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts

Workshops Your Way® Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Kit

5 – cardstock sheets (2 Pewter, 3 White Daisy)

Use the materials in this kit to create three coordinating scrapbook layouts (as shown below). 

I  started by stamping 4 butterflies on Vellum Paper with Black Memento™ Ink Pad 

I left it for an hour or so to dry. This was a technique we learnt at our Close to My Heart Seasonal Expressions Launch. Also recommended is Archival Ink for stamping on vellum. 

The next thing I did was line up the "dear Friend" and "Thinking of you" on my White Daisy Cardstock 1.25 x 3.75 inches piece where I wanted them to sit, then I dropped the block on top (with space to make it a banner) 

Next I cut some 1.5 inch squares of the Workshops Your Way® Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Kit paper and then the backing stuck to the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack was the linen pattern from the BBasics Fundamental Paper Packet 4 x 5.25 inches. I fussy cut the vellum stamped butterflies out and folded the wings and stuck them on with 3-D Foam Tape. The banner was on with Thin 3-D Foam Tape.

 After I finished this card, I two vellum butterflies left. I wasn't sure if we could paint them because it was Memento on Vellum and I wondered if it would bleed. It was an experiment = I used some Watercolor Paints (oranges) with the Waterbrush—Medium Round. It curled up a little while wet but I really like how it turned out. (see below for how it looks with watercolour pencils with shimmer brush to paint on white cardstock).

For the card below I used the Remember picture my life card and stamped "thinking of you" with Memento ink. I used the Basic Fundamentals paper to line the front of the card and put the PML card on top. Then I added the heart banner from the Chelsea Gardens Complements set (cut a little shorter to fit). Then I stuck the curled vellum butterfly on top. 

The three cards I made below were from the Seasonal Expressions Launch event. I really loved using the Watercolor Pencils with Shimmer Brush—Clear to colour the butterflies in on white Cardstock. Such a pretty look on the paper. I don't think the photos of the three cards below really do the technique justice as they look amazing in real life.
