Colour Dare #510 Tic-Tac-Toe

This week's tic-tac-toe colours are based on the gorgeous Backyard Bliss Scrapbooking Workshop Kit colours. 

I love this set because it has CHICKENS!!!!!!!!!! I love chickens. I have 6 backyard chickens. 

I was making an 18th Birthday card for a teenage boy, so pulled out the coloured cardstock for the Top Row - Sapphire, Sage, and Silver (I like the ring to that!). 

I also used the woodgrain paper that was available when I made the card but has sold out since. Bummer... Use your stash and find a woodgrain paper or other neutral cardstock for the numbers. 

This is a 12x6 piece of Sage Cardstock to create the 6x6 sized card. Then I did the a 5.25 inch square of the Sapphire Cardstock (but I think I might have cut it slightly smaller. Then I cut a 5x5 Silver Glitter Paper to back the Woodgrain paper. The woodgrain was cut with the Cricut and stuck to the glitter with 3-D Foam Tape.

Super simple, easy to re-create card. I hope you like it. 

I didn't realise my photo had a shadow of my hand on the bottom right hand corner but I have gifted the card already so I can't take another!

Colour Dare #508 - Six Pack

A brand new catalogue launched a few days ago so I wanted to use brand new stamp sets for this challenge. I pulled out all the cardstock in the challenge but settled on Avocado Cardstock and Mulberry Cardstock. 

I used Mulberry Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and stamped with the dashed lines from Background Elements. I filled in the space stamping over and over. 

I also used this above stamp set to stamp the dots on the top half of the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack in Mulberry Ink also. 

Then used New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad (which is WSL because the colour is retiring at the end of this month) and stamped on the Avocado Cardstock (lighter side) with the You Deserve It All Stamp + Thin Cuts. I used my Big Shot to cut out the shapes. This present stamp set is for pull up cards but I cut off the pull up part and stuck the lid on permanently (no movement). 

I then stamped with New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the Background Elements for the X's along a thin strip of Avocado cardstock on the darker side.  

I used this same stamp set for the Happy Birthday that I stamped on White Daisy Cardstock strip with New England Ivy Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad (WSL) and then used my 

Micro-tip Scissors to dove-tail the pennant banner. I used the New England Ivy Ink to ink up the edges by running the paper over the stamp pad. 

I love how much texture this card has from this must have new stamp set from the new Annual Catalogue.

Colour Dare #506 Sunset Inspiration Photo

I saw the Inspiration photo and knew it was a perfect opportunity for Distress oxide blending. I pulled out Mustard Seed Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad for the yellow, Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad. I blended them with my Mini Ink Blending Tool.

I did two while I had the cardstock out. I did one on an angle first and then the second one I did horizontal. The tiny piece was to wipe off the sponges so I didn't get as much on their packaging (I store my Mini Ink Blending Foam under the oxide inks with 2" × 2" Flip Flaps™ Memory Protectors™) 

Then I flicked water from my water sprayer and the bigger ones from my Medium Round Waterbrush. I love this look from distress oxides and how they react to water. 

I stamped the super cute sloths from the Take It Easy stamp set. I didn't get the thin cuts (they were sold out by the time I ordered it and I thought "I won't need it" and then I had to fussy cut the sloths out and thought I should have ordered it). I stamped them on White Daisy Cardstock with black ink and thought about colouring them but thought the background which is the hero would stand out better with them just black and white. 

I matted the 4x5.25 inch White Daisy Cardstock that I distress oxided (is that a verb?)... with 

Black Cardstock 1/8th bigger. I did the title directly on one card and one on white cardstock with the black cardstock backing. 

I had two people in mind for these cards so they'll be going out ASAP.

Colour Dare #504 Four Square

Originally I pulled out all my 12x12 Paper Envelopes for Sapphire Cardstock, Sundance Cardstock, Glacier Cardstock and Evergreen Cardstock. I assumed I'd be using Sapphire/Glacier/Evergreen but it ended up being Sundance/Glacier and Evergreen. 

These envelopes have my scraps in as well as my full sheets of cardstock so I pulled out all the scraps as well and realised in Sundance I had some pre-embossed hexagon cardstock. I decided to rip it in half and flip it over so I had half on the dark side and half on the light side. Then I tore a sheet of the Glacier too. I had a thin slice of Evergreen to finish it off but also wanted some neutral in there. I pulled out my NEW released Backyard Bliss Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet and found the cute chicken wire green pattern and it went well with the hexagon shapes so I used a 3/4 inch stripe along the bottom. 

FYI - I LOVE the backyard Bliss papers because I keep backyard chickens and this set with the chicken wire and the papers of the gardening and the stickers of chickens! Its my perfect set!

Getting back to my card. I cut two of the gnomes from the still available Gnome Matter Stamp + Thin Cuts but instead of using White Daisy I have used Glacier cardstock (one light side, one dark side) which my mum said made them look like Smurfs. I coloured their beards with White Gel Pens, plus the pompom on his hat and the flowers white. Then I used Fair Skin TriBlend™ Marker to colour their noses and hands and Earth Brown TriBlend™ Marker for their belts and shoes. Everything else was left with Glacier cardstock. 

The last thing I did before sticking the cardstock down was the title sentiment "Feel Better Soon!" from my favourite card title stamp set that will be retiring at the end of this current annual catalogue cycle its called For All Occasions. Its a must have for all Occasions :) hehehehee, see what they did there. I stamped in Evergreen Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad to bring in the green from the strip at the bottom. 

I used Tombow Air Touch Adhesive to adhere everything flat onto White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack cards- although you could totally have put things up on 3D Foam. I also thought about bling but wanted to keep it a little masculine so didn't want to bling it up too much.

Colour Dare #502 Capri plus 1 colour

I really wanted to use the Hope and Kindness bundle because it is going going gone by 30th June. Its such a beautiful pack and I just love it so much. I will be sad when its gone. 

So I pulled out my Hope & Kindness Stamp + Thin Cuts from the above bundle. 

Its so pretty. I cut two lots of each of the flowers in White Daisy Cardstock and stamped with Intense Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. Then I cut the Capri Cardstock using the lovely Postage Frames Thin Cuts in the larger two sizes. I adhered the Capri dark side frame and light side of the inside onto the card base (White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack).

Then I pulled out my Candied Apple Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad and splotched down some ink onto my All-purpose Mat. I used my Medium Round Waterbrush to add water to the ink in varying amounts. The more water I added the lighter the colour got. I had 3 tones... and coloured the flowers in the mid-tone, the leaves in the lightest colour and the almost straight ink in the berries and heart etc. 

After I had painted all the flowers I wanted to, I still had ink on my mat so I grabbed the word heart cut out and smooshed the ink onto the letters. I didn't end up using for this card but its ready for the next one. 

I cut a white bit of cardstock and stamped Thinking of you from For All Occasions which is on SALE this month for Stamptacular. I have used this ALL year!! Grab it now before it disappears. 

I adhered the flowers in a cluster at the bottom and added the thinking of you postage stamp on the top left angled. Finished off with the heart and Gold Glitter Gems.

Colour Dare #500 Tic-Tac-Toe

I love these colours and I pulled out the cardstock = Wisteria Cardstock, Toffee Cardstock and Evergreen Cardstock. I really wanted to use the Fancy Doilies Thin Cuts that I got in my Hope & Kindness Product Bundle. I LOVE this Doilies thin cut so much so I wanted to create with that. 

I cut the largest Doily in the Toffee cardstock and the small Doily in Wisteria. I pulled out my Mocha Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad to stamp the Title Celebrate from the For All Occasions stamp set. For All Occasions is part of the Stamptacular sale so its reduced. Its a great set for all your card sentiments. 

I stamped the Celebrate on White Daisy cardstock and backed it with Evergreen Cardstock. 

I also used the Mocha ink to sponge around the edge of the small wisteria doily and edge the evergreen cardstock and white daisy of the sentiment. 

I adhered only the centre with Air Touch Adhesive and had to trim down the large doily and a bit of the small doiley so I used Dual-tip Permanent Glue Pen on the edges of the card under doilies. I used 3D Foam tape under the celebrate already-matted title. 

I left the edges of the doily to curl up so it created some dimension. I left a little overlap on the top part of the doily but I checked to ensure it would still fit inside the envelope. 

I finished the card with Gold Glitter Gems.
