Colour Dare #570 - Four Square

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #570 is a Four Square challenge. You need to use 3 of the colours - Journey, Glacier, Mink and Ballerina Plus.... Black, white, neutrals AND Metallics are free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. I was looking for inspiration so I grabbed this weeks sketch challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 546. Its perfect for a four colour challenge as there are four colours on the sketch. 

So I decided to grab out Journey Cardstock, Glacier Cardstock, Mink Cardstock and 

Ballerina Cardstock. 

For the little dots shown on the sketch I decided to use Card Front Stencil Pack 2 which is for the centre's of the flowers but it makes great bubble splotches. 

I used  Ballerina Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad with my Blending Brushes. I went back and did more after I placed the cardstock on as I hadn't gone wide enough with the ballerina ink dots. 

I cut a strip 4 inches long by 3/4 inches wide in each of the cardstock colours and tore the edges to give that ruffled edge. 

Then I stamped the Owl from the cutest Stamp of the Month and the sentiment.

I decided to paint with inks and my Medium Round Waterbrush

To paint with my inks I either use the lid of the ink or like shown above drop it onto the 

All-purpose Mat and paint from there. 

Journey Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad was what I used to paint the owls hat trim and pompom and scarf, then Glacier Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad  for the owls eye and hat, Ballerina Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad for the beak and feet and the top of his head - then I painted over it and his body and face with Mink Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad.

For the edges of my card I sponged with Ballerina ink and inked by running it along the ink pad plus the Thanks sentiment had the pink sponging and inked edges. I found a pre-embossed with brick wall look (retired folder) in mink cardstock card front and stuck that down. Then I put a retired twine in the criss-cross shape and stuck it all up on 3D foam tape. 

Then I heat set my owl to dry it with my heat gun. 

Then I cut him out with my big shot embossing/cutting machine. 

I stuck my owl on with 3D foam too. Its so cute!

Colour Dare #470 TicTacToe Candid Moments

I needed to make a 21st Birthday card for a friend and so I pulled out Peach Cardstock and my beautiful new Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder. I put it through and it wasn't showing up enough (too subtle) so I pulled out the Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and Round Sponge and sponged the sapphire ink onto the top of the peach cardstock to have the pattern show out.

Then I put a section of Peach cardstock across the centre and a small strip of Sapphire Cardstock. I used Gold Glitter Paper and Classic Alphabet Thin Cuts to cut the 21 on my Big Shot machine. The sticker to finish off is "Special Day" shown below from Candid Moments Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet.

I LOVE this new embossing folder.

Colour Dare #462 Pumpkin Patch Colours

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #462 is the colours of the Pumpkin Spice Scrapbooking Workshop Kit in a Tic-Tac-Toe grid (you can choose a row, column or diagonal line (or do all of the squares like me), you are free to use Black & White. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. I pulled out cardstock in all the colours in the Tic Tac Toe I wanted to use my Slimline Celebration Cardmaking Workshop Kit, specifically the Fishy Greetings stamps and thing cuts and the Circle Cluster Thin Cuts. 

I cut fish and seahorses out of Peach Cardstock, Shortbread Cardstock, 

Paprika Cardstock, Papaya Cardstock and Nectarine Cardstock. Then I cut seaweed in Harbour Cardstock and the circle clusters in Harbour Glitter Paper. 

Such a great way to use up scraps. Also I did some on the light side of the cardstock and some on the dark side of the cardstock. LOVE Close to My Hearts two-toned cardstock for variations like this!!

I pulled out a Slimline Card & Envelope, and put a Mink Cardstock background of 8 inches x 3 inches (the main slimline card is 8.5 inches by 3.5 inches). 

I stamped them with Memento ink (similar to Intense Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad). I also stamped the little schools of fish & little sentiment directly onto the Mink cardstock using the NEW 1" × 1½" My Acrylix® Block.

I used Thin 3-D Foam Tape to pop up all the fish on top of the cluster circles and put the seaweed plants underneath. To finish off I used some Gold Glitter Gems, to use the centre square on the tic-tac-toe board. I'm really happy with how it finished off. 

The only colour I couldn't fit into my card was Toffee so I didn't complete the whole tic-tac-toe board completely!!

I love the look of the Harbour glitter paper in the background of this card. So pretty sparkles!

I did so many fish I decided to do another card as well. Using the Pumpkin Patch papers and Papaya ink for the bubbles on the background and black ink on the sentiment. Pretty happy that I have so many fish stamped and cut in different colours because its really easy next time to just grab a fish and create something without having to get out my thin cuts and inks and bigshot machine. Proactive Cardmaking for the future!!

We are pretty happy with our very first video. I'm sure as we make more of these I will get better at editing, speeding up and improving the quality of the video. We had lots of fun making this, which is the whole point of this exercise.

Florence Paper Pack

My order didn't arrive in time so I borrowed some Florence scraps from a consultant friend at our Monthly Fun Day (12 hour cropping day for consultants only). *Note: Since the fun day I have received my order but loved my designed card so much I didn't think I needed another idea. 

My consultant buddy gave me her left overs and I found some scraps I wanted to use and make a card. I laid the scraps down onto a 5 1/2" × 4 1/4" Colonial White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack card.

I stuck the strips on using Duck® Easy Stick™ Adhesive. I cut the edges off with my Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors.

Another fellow consultant Laura Beacham created a Thin Cuts display page to showcase all the NEW Thin Cuts and I decided to use her idea and create my own also at the Fun Day. I really love the glittery Close to My Heart papers. In the New Annual Inspirations Catalogue the glitter paper is available to purchase as single colour packs (instead of the old 3 different coloured papers in one pack). This is a very exciting change to the new catalogue because its easier to create projects with single colour packs of paper. Birthday or Wedding Invitations with ALL Gold Glitter Paper or Christmas cards with ALL Silver Glitter Paper or ALL Red Glitter Paper. 

When I cut one of each of the thin cuts I cut an extra set of Stars Thin Cuts—Stars in Gold Glitter Paper to add to my card. Then to stick with the theme of Gold Glitter Paper I cut out a thin cut "Thanks" from Thin Cuts—Hello & Thanks set. 

I adhered the thin cuts Stars and Thanks with Bonding Memories™ Glue Pen

and simple as that the card is complete. I really love the new thin cuts.
