Our Colour Dare Challenge for #442 is a Choose at least 3 colours.  You are also permitted to use Black, White, Greys + Metallic and Glitters. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #442 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).
So join in TODAY!!

I chose Blue Belle, Sapphire & Wisteria as my three colours and the card I ended up with almost looks monochromatic even with these three colours used, so they are a perfect compliment to each other. Plus white is my free to use colour.

I grabbed out my scraps of sapphire print from the Mix-in Paper Packet (Jul–Aug) which is still available to purchase. To put in the middle - I didn't measure the sizes this was literally just scraps.

Then I grabbed my tiny amount of scraps of blue belle patterned paper from Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet for the top section. The skinny diagonal stripe is a sticker too. I put Sapphire Cardstock on the bottom of the card.

I stamped Wisteria Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad with the Mother Days sentiment from a previous Stamp of the Month and stamped the wisteria onto a white daisy cardstock circle I had already cut (watch out next month for new thin cut circles!! this one is an old retired Thin Cut but I'm sure its a similar size to the new ones!). The heart stamps are also from that stamp set. Its called Time to Celebrate Stamp of the Month S2005 (SOTM May 2020) pictured below.

The two branches are stickers from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet and I finished it off with white dots from the Black & White Dots embellishments.

I know blues aren't traditionally mothers day card colours but I wanted something that men could give their mothers without being too overly flowery.

I love that this was made with essentially my scraps and leftovers. I love to make cards to use up all the paper I have from each paper pack I hate being leftover with lots of paper.

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #342 and add your entry.

TicTacToe "Sweet Girl" Color Palette

Black & White Free - No Extra Neutrals

My Daughters school were having a Mothers Day stall this week and I made a bunch of 3x3 sized cards in this weeks colours in the middle line. Mink, Sapphire & Ballerina. I grabbed mink card stock and the ballerina dots and plaid/gingham scraps I had from some older paper packs including Mixed in Papers from the last catalogue. The Sapphire crosses were from that Mixed in papers too. I used ink from Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ and Mink Exclusive Inks™ for edges and stamping and some light Ballerina Exclusive Inks™ stamping of flowers on some of the cards in the white daisy sections of the card (You'll have to look closely to see them). Then used the grey twine called Whisper Thick Twine  (in the clearance section) and the NEW Sapphire Crochet Thread

The titles are from a bunch of older stamp sets - I grabbed out a few and used them over and over in different ways.

Product Description

Kit contents:
1 – Jack Paper Packet (X7222B)
1 – Jack Complements (X7222C)
4 – cardstock sheets (1 Juniper, 2 Whisper, 1 White Daisy)
1 – Black & White Dots (Z3314)

Use the materials in this kit and the online instructions to create three coordinating scrapbook layouts and a number of cards.

For my first project I used a layout from the Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 2 How-to Book. The books are great because they give the cutting guides and a sample or 2 of each page layout (This one had 2 samples). There is a new Make it from your Heart Volume -Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 3.

This one was great for scraps and leftovers using lots of 1.5 inch and half inch strips.

You'll see I was a bit short on one of the strips (with the faces) but I knew I was placing a big photo section there so I knew it wouldn't matter.

See - covered up and it doesn't matter that there was a small gap underneath :)

I made this page at our camp and left my Jack Complements at home so I didn't get to embellish it yet, I nearly drove home from camp to get them. Also thinking of adding extra photo wells. I am thinking it is perfect for photos of our Scout Camps.

This layout above, came from the Creative Insider (You can get this from your consultant usually on purchase of Jack or at a class or workshop). I flipped the paper over from the tree paper on the creative insider because I thought the "little man" title seemed more ideal with the men on the paper.

I really love the tree tamps from the Jack Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin CutsThe trees go so great with the overlapping colours.

After I did the pages I decided to make a card with the trees plus the Tree stamp and Tree paper. Plus Black Shimmer Trim and Black & White DotsI raised the white banner with 3-D Foam Tape

The last card (below) I want to show is made by my friend and sister consultant Alicia Lawrence. We did a swap of some cards we each made. I wanted to show it in this one because it was a "girly" card made with the masculine papers.

Water Colour Techniques Class

At my weekly Adult Learning Card Making Class I taught them 10 days ago a few fun Water Colour Painting Techniques. Smooshing was everyone's favourite and fun technique. I made a few cards with my sample 4x4 sized Watercolor Paper samples. Using Watercolor Paints with lots of water and paint droplets on sturdy plastic or your 4" × 5" My Acrylix® Blockthen turn it over and SMOOSH the paint onto your paper to create interesting organic designs.

Note: I did mention this technique on the Tea-rrific S1703 CTMH Australasian Blog Hop
See below Mothers Day card also shown on that Blog Hop.

Following on from this theme this weekend I used my watercolour samples and made another similar card using that Tea-rrific—March Stamp of the Month and Workshops Your Way® Sugar Rush Scrapbooking Kit paper.

I used White Twine to add the tea bag tag and used Black Memento™ Ink Pad to to stamp them and my ShinHan markers to colour in the tag. I put washi tape on the back to hold the twine in place.

One of my ladies made the following card at the class with the Smooshing Technique and Balloon Wishes stamp set. She used some 3-D Foam Tape to add dimension to the title. I loved her card so asked if I could take a photo and post to my blog.

Another lady Helen took her watercolour paper home and created cards and brought them back this last Thursday. She did smooshing technique below with 3 or 4 main colours and got a grid sort of smooshed area. She then cut a circle out using a thin cut die (Thin Cuts—Basic Circles are on 25% discount this month). The stamps she used are her own. Again I was super impressed with what she had done with her Watercolour practice piece that I took a photo.

Helen also did the varigated wash sample and stamped the Balloon Wishes stamp at class and then took it home to mount it and stamp the title and butterflies with her own stamps. Such a pretty card she made. I was so impressed with her creation.

I have loved teaching these techniques - along with a bunch of others as seen in the blog hop and other cards I've made.

One of my ladies only comes every second week so I'm looking forward to this Thursday to see what she made with her watercolour samples that she took home to stamp and make into a card.

Tea-rrific S1703 CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Blog Hop. We have all been creating with the "Tea-rrific—March Stamp of the MonthStamp set. If you have arrived here from Doris Taylor Creative Inspirations then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

Today I would like to share with you my project which features the Tea-rrific—March Stamp of the Month exclusively throughout March 2017 for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75.

Firstly can I say... I LOVE THIS STAMP SET SOOoooooooo Sooooooo MUCH!!!!!

I did a demo last week with Water colour paints and techniques for my Seniors Card Making Class at an Adult learning centre. Some of my water colour samples I turned into cards for my Blog Hop.

I taught the ladies the Smooshing technique by dropping watercoloured paint onto plastic and then smooshing it on Watercolor Paper. My watercolour paper samples were all 4x4 inches and I did cut it down slightly, then I used a larger piece of Pansy Cardstock to back the 5 1/2" × 4 1/4" White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack

Then I stamped the Happy Mothers Day cup and the "steam" three times with Black Memento™ Ink Pad.

To finish the card off I tied a bow with Blush Shimmer Ribbon so it looked balanced and even plus pretty and delicate. My mum was with me when I made the card but she promises to be surprised on Mothers Day receiving it (heheheheheee).

For another Sample I stamped Black Memento™ Ink Pad on 12" × 12" Colonial White Cardstock with the Hello Lovely Cardmaking Thin Cuts Bundle Flower stamp (This stamp set with thin cuts bundled together are 25% off this month only!!). Such a great flower stamp. I wanted to show my seniors ladies that you can use Watercolor Paints with normal paper it just tends to buckle a little (and obviously can't be completely covered in water or paint). Using it to paint the flowers is just enough to not buckle the paper completely. I used the Waterbrush—Medium Round to paint the flowers so it wasn't too wet.

Goes great with paper from Workshops Your Way® Hello Lovely Scrapbooking Kit and the "Good times are even better when they are shared." sentiment from the Tea-rrific—March Stamp of the Month.

I used Tombow® Permanent Adhesive and stuck Hello Lovely Paper and Colonial White cardstock on the 5 1/2" × 4 1/4" Colonial White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack.

I also had made up the cards in the Workshops Your Way® Hello Baby Cardmaking Kit
last week and had leftover pieces cut from the kit that I hadn't made up into cards yet, so I used the base just like the cards (shown below in stock image).

Using the stamp of the month with the two joining sentiments I made the following card. Using my Black Memento™ Ink Pad (have you noticed its my favourite black ink?!!) I stamped the image and the sentiments then coloured in the cups with my shinhan markers

Its a very simple card so it may need some bling but the sentiment is the most important feature of the card I feel so the subtle design of the baby card/turned grownup card is enough. I did cut the ribbon to stick on as per the above image but it didn't really go well with the cups so I didn't end up using it.

Remember this great stamp set Tea-rrific—March Stamp of the Month is only available throughout March from my website or from your Close to My Heart Consultant

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest projects. I'm really interested to hear what you think about them, so I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop on our Australasian Blog Hop which is  Creating with Kara Davies.
