Colour Dare #544 - Triple Play

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, peach, harbour, rosemary, stamping, Stamp of the Month, Birds, Birthday, birthday card, blending, fussy cutting, paper piecing, border stamp,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #544 is a triple play. You must use ALL three colours, Peach, Harbour & Rosemary (Black, white, neutral and metallics free to use). When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #544 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram etc), more details on the Colour Dare Blog post (see link above).

I started with the Sweet Tweets—April Stamp of the Month because I thought it would be great as a paper pieced with Peach CardstockHarbour Cardstock, and Rosemary Cardstock. I stamped the middle bird on each of the colours with Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and fussy cut them out. I decided it looked like a Robin Red breast so thought I would make that part the Peach colour.

ALL the cardstock is on sale this month April 2023 called Cardstock Carnival. This month only, save 15% on single-colour cardstock packs, 20% on a selection of exclusive combo packs, and 30% on our Cardstock Carnival Super Bundle, which comes with SEVEN sheets each of our exclusive colours—that’s 301 sheets of cardstock! Details can be found here. CARDSTOCK CARNIVAL LINK!

I thought perhaps I could darken the edges of the "breast" and beak so I used the

Blending Brushes with Peach Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad... but it didn't really turn out how I wanted. Due to that I didn't bother to blend any ink on the other paper pieced parts.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, peach, harbour, rosemary, stamping, Stamp of the Month, Birds, Birthday, birthday card, blending, fussy cutting, paper piecing, border stamp,

I also stamped the centre bird onto a white cardstock piece 2.75 x 2.75 inches and then layered the peach cardstock and Rosemeary cardstock on top. Then I matted the whole square with a 3 inch x 3 inch square of Harbour cardstock. I had done the square and then thought... What am I going to do with a 3 inch square so I looked up Pinterest and found an idea...

Click here to see the design I found that I was inspired by - Pinterest design - https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/363736107415793846/

The part I liked was the folded corner. So I folded down the corner of a White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack. On the underneath base I used Peach cardstock. I cut the corner of the 5.5x4.25 inch full bit of peach cardstock. Later I ended up attaching the peach corner back on underneath the cutout section but I flipped it over for the darker side to be showing.

I also stamped the border footprints on the edge of that peach card in Black Ink and stamped the Birthday Wishes sentiment onto a white scrap. I then matted the scrap in dark side of peach, then harbour (light side) then Harbour, to finish it off.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, peach, harbour, rosemary, stamping, Stamp of the Month, Birds, Birthday, birthday card, blending, fussy cutting, paper piecing, border stamp,

I am finding it hard to photograph peach because outside it looked very pink and inside it looked orange... trust me its Peach cardstock and peach ink.

Colour Dare #468 Inspiration Image

#CTMHVandra, thank you, gnomes, music, inspiration, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge, teacher, Birds, sapphire, triblend markers, Random Stamping, cardmaking, stamp and thin cut,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #468 is the colours of the above inspiration image (at least 3 colours), you are free to use Black & White. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #468 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

This image brings back lots of memories for me as I had these on a doona cover and some curtains when I was really small (*ahem* like 35yrs ago).

I made a quick and simple card for this challenge as I was required to make a bunch of thank you cards for my son's teachers for his last day of school before his Year 12 Graduation. This card I made was for one of the music teachers.

I picked out Dark Blue (Sapphire from the retired Wander collection with the white stars - you could create this look with sapphire cardstock and our new white White Gel Pens), then I picked light Blue (I chose Carolina Cardstock) and the brown, so I chose the new Mocha Cardstock. To get some tone-on-tone stamping I used an old stamp set with some music notes on it and random stamped all over the Mocha cardstock. I don't have the Mocha ink yet so I pulled out the reitred Nutmeg ink and they worked quite well together. I put an R in texta on the front of my ink pads that have retired so I know its an old colour but it still works well with current Mocha.

#CTMHVandra, thank you, gnomes, music, inspiration, color dare, Colour Dare Challenge, teacher, Birds, sapphire, triblend markers, Random Stamping, cardmaking, stamp and thin cut,

After doing stripes of each of the 3 main inspiration colours I decided to do a little gnome sign. I picked the gnome from the Mini Garden Gnomes Stamp + Thin Cuts from the Slimline Celebration Cardmaking Workshop Kit.

I coloured him with triblend markers in Fair Skin TriBlend™ Marker for his face and handsEarth Brown TriBlend™ Marker for his boots and belt, True Blue TriBlend™ Marker for his hat and clothes and the lightest and mid tones of the Ice Grey TriBlend™ Marker for the bird.

#CTMHVandra, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, grey, operation smile, hugs, you make me happy, animals, Cats, dogs, owls, Birds, flowers, leaves, thinking of you, Love, sending hugs, cardmaking, puffy, stickers,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #384 is Greys with 2 colours of your choice. You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #384 and add your entry.

I chose to make a card using the newest Operation Smile Stamp set called You Make Me happyWith every purchase of this stamp set, $7 USD are donated to the life saving mission of Operation Smile™. Operation Smile™ is a non-profit organisation that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates in children around the world.

You Make Me happy has the sweetest animals and words. Its a must for everyone. We have had a death in our family this week so I will be sending lots of hugs to family members and friends and this was a sweet and easy card to make. I used my scissors to rough up the edges of the cardstock and added an old puffy sticker. I coloured with the TriBlend markers.

The colours I chose were grey (Charcoal CardstockBrown Grey TriBlend™ Marker,) plus green and red (Light Green TriBlend™ MarkerDark Red TriBlend™ Marker).

Colour Dare #376 Winter Inspiration

No photo description available.
Our Colour Dare Challenge for #376 is the Winter Inspiration which coordinates lovely with our new CTMH Spruced Up Scrapbooking Workshop Kit

You are invited to participate in this challenge too. Go to the link for Colour Dare #376 and add your entry.

I made some cards with the Spruced Up Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet and

and then the paper from the Spruced up Paper packet. I cut some strips and put them on the bottom and side of the card. Then I added a thin strip of the Colour of the Year Julep Cardstock
and then put the stickers from the Spruced Up Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet .
The pine cone sticker I hung over the edge a tiny bit and trimmed it off with my fine point scissors.

Then I stamped the Thinking of You from the Spruced Up—Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts

To finish the card off I did three little clusters of 3 little dots using the Black Journaling Pen (.03)

Very simple to put together cards that I think are quite effective. In Australia we don't have winter quite the same as in North America, so I wouldn't use the stickers on my album pages as much, so I'm happy using them on cards.

Swan Lake CTMH Australian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring this months featured pack called Workshops Your Way™ Swan Lake Scrapbooking Kit.

If you have arrived here from
then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

We are all creating with the Workshops Your Way™ Swan Lake Scrapbooking Kit.This kit is featured by Close to My Heart in October and is until the end of the current Holiday Expressions Ideas Book. Its a beautiful set that features black swans which is perfect for Western Australian photos because the black swan is the emblem of WA.

Kit contents:

1 – Swan Lake Paper Packet (X7212B)
1 – Swan Lake Complements (X7212C)
4 – cardstock sheets (1 Peacock, 2 Whisper, 1 White Daisy) Swan Lake Coordinating Cardstock
1 – Grey Enamel Gems (Z3089)
1 – Black Shimmer Ribbon (Z4012)

I used the Swan Lake kit at our Consultant Scrapbook Camp and made ALL the pages and cards. Then I made lots and lots of things with the offcuts AND I still have LOTS of paper left over!!

As I usually do with the Workshops Your Way card templates I turn the paper over to create a different look just with turning it over. I also used black swans on the alternate cards. Thankful for You Thin Cuts Bundle is the stamp set and thin cuts that are used with this workshop your way cards.
These are the cards that I made below, using the thin cuts and the inks suggested in the kit.

After I had made the Swan Lake Cards and pages. I used the scraps to make lots more cards.

The above window card is one of my favourites, (I made one for my upline for her birthday and one for myself as a sample). I used the 5 1/2" × 4 1/4" White Cards & Envelopes, Value Pack
white card as a base and cut a hole in the base. I stamped the cute little girl from the True Love
stamp set (that is the Operation Smile Fundraising stamp set) and coloured her in using shinhan markers. I cut a White Daisy Cardstock frame for the windows and then attached it using 3-D Foam Tape to make the window stick up.

After I did the window card, I cut out lots of swans and all the bits from the set, using the thin cuts and made cards with them. This is a great set for Thank you cards and I made lots of them and gave them out. These below cards are all made at 4x4 inches of white daisy cardstock (4x8 folded in half).

Remember Workshops Your Way™ Swan Lake Scrapbooking Kit is only available for a limited time so make sure you get it soon, so you don't miss out! Go to my website www.vandra.ctmh.com.au or your consultants website and order today.

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest project, I hope you get inspired. I'm really interested to hear what you think about it, so I'd love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop on our Australasian Blog Hop which is Shaunna Richards Passionate About Pages.
