Sugarplum, Eggplant & Fern Colour Dare Challenge #313

This week's challenge Color Dare #313 was to use Sugarplum, Eggplant & Fern. 

Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them.

For some reason I thought Eggplant was more red so thought red, green and purple-pink... so I pulled out my Fair Dinkum Christmas C1728. This is one of our International Stamp sets that is available in all Close to My Heart Markets but can only be ordered online (ask your consultant). I had stamped the koala, with his  Sugarplum Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad hat and the Fern sentiment before pulling out Eggplant and realising it was more purple than red. Whoops, but I made it work anyway. I stamped the presents with Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the ribbons with Fern Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. I fussy cut out my Koala and put it up on 3-D Foam Tape. I matted with Sugarplum Cardstock and Eggplant Cardstock.

S1808 For The Love of Crafting CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Blog Hop. Today I would like to share with you my projects which feature the For the Love of Crafting—August Stamp of the Month available exclusively throughout August 2018 for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75. Please note that prices do not include GST. This is the most amazing set for all my crafty friends. I Love crafting, Craft today do housework tomorrow, Craftiness is Happiness, I craft so hard I sweat glitter... then some positive uplifting stuff like Do what you love and Enjoy the Small Stuff, Plus the typewriter and the camera. Perfect for every craft room, scrapbooker and stamper or cardmaker. 

My first card I made using the "Enjoy the Small Stuff" and Typewriter that I stamped with Peacock Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on white cardstock. Then I matted that on 12" × 12" Peacock Cardstock cut down to 4x4 inches (the dark side). I LOVE the colour Peacock as its been really versatile, in so many of the packs we've had in the last few months. 

My most favourite paper of the Workshops Your Way® Documented Scrapbooking Kit 

is the white brick wall paper. I backed the card almost the whole way on the white card and added the peacock spot ribbon from the Enchantment Ribbon Pack to the bottom of the card. 

The next card I did was using the Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and stamped the camera all over the white cardstock. Then I cut it down a little and added another piece of white only slightly larger so it had just a small white edge. Then I added the purple spots paper from the Documented paper pack at 4 x 5.25 inches. I added stripe of the purple over the top of the stamped cameras and added the 3D adhesive-backed wooden words "Smile" from the Documented Titles.

Nevermore Paper Packet Blog Hop

I started with the Nevermore Paper Packet and decided I didn't want to do a typical "Halloween" page. I LOVE the old world/steam punk style of the grey pages. I created the Double-Page Layout at a recent Scrapbooking Retreat with photos taken at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast we took on a holiday last year. The photos have an "old world" look to them because they were taken at the Wild West Gold Rush Country at Dreamworld. I think they are a perfect fit for the paper. 

I decided to use the stamp set that is exclusive this month called Hello, Life—Scrapbooking

we are going to do an exclusive blog post for this in a few days so watch this space and come back then to see more ideas using these stamp sets. 

This is what I laid out first. I used the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock 

to mat the photos and the one front photo I double-matted it. I backed in the grey paper (with the orange on the back) and sanded the edges (with the Sanding Kit) then I matted in 12" X 12" Black Cardstock. All from the Nevermore Paper Packet.

 

On the opposite side I did the same. 2 in 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock and 1 with the grey and 12" X 12" Black Cardstock double-mat. Then I put the zip strips from the top of the two sheets of old world Nevermore Paper Packet and decided it needed some shimmer trim. The Purple Shimmer Trim and Pink Shimmer Trim weren't  a good match for the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock so I made my own personalised shimmer trim. 

I used the Silver Shimmer Trim and coloured in with the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Peony Purple Marker. 

You have to be careful to wait until it dries before touching it or have a tissue handy to hold it with, or your fingers will get messy. 

It is hard to get a good photo of the shimmer trim because it just reflects the light so much. 

To finish the page off, I used Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the Hello, Life—Scrapbooking Stamp set for the happy and arrow and the NEW Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Pad for the circle stamp on white Daisy paper and then I fussy cut it out with the Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors. 

 I really love this Happy font. 

To finish off the Wanted page. I made a pennant with the "Good" stamp. I added the extra stamps next to the Good to read - Good Times, Good Memories, Good Life. Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad
on the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock from the Nevermore Paper Packet.

To create the Journal Box I stamped the tag looking stamp on both sides of my piece of 12" X 12" White Daisy Cardstock with Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Pad. The white card was a little stark against the grey page, so I used Whisper Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and a Sponge Dauber to create a tea stained aged look.

NB: The whisper dauber got a purple tinge to it when stamping over the eggplant.

I was really really happy with how this page layout turned out and I really love the Nevermore Paper Packet particularly the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock and Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Pad. Even if you don't celebrate Halloween, this is a great paper pack to own and love!
