Colour Dare Challenge #346 at least 3 colours

This week's challenge Colour Dare #346. 

LOC Choose at least 3 Colors from the above colour photo - Candy Apple, Smoothie, New England Ivy, Linen, Lagoon and Sapphire. 

Guidelines on Neutrals:  Black, White, and Neutrals are free to use.

I chose Linen, Lagoon & Sapphire with a pop of Candy Apple. I got some Linen Cardstock and stamped on the beautiful cake from the It's Your Day to Sparkle—June Stamp of the Month (shown below). 

Then I pulled out my Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and my Waterbrush—Medium Round  and used the Sapphire ink in the lid of the ink to paint the main part of the cake. 

Then I used the waterbrush to paint the leaves with Lagoon Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. 

Then the red roses (Candy Apple red) with the Shimmer Brush—Red. 

After I had finished painting, I matted the linen cardstock with Lagoon Cardstock and Sapphire Cardstock. 

My finished card is below. Very happy with how it turned out.

I love the paper in this set, lots of it is black and white in it, so it makes such a classic easy card. There aren't many papers that are Halloween themed so its easy to change up the papers to use for various other things. I stuck with simple and elegant in this couple of cards. I don't think the photos do justice to how classy they look in person (if I do say so myself). 

The card below has a the black and white stripes and some Lagoon Ink for the Thankful Title from the Thanks & Giving—October Stamp of the Month.The little black heart is from this set too. A simple easy card that was quick and effective for all the many thank you cards I tend to make and use.

I really love the below card because the mix of the dots and diamond shapes looks like a mans shirt, so I'm glad to have made a more masculine card. The "pocket" shape (rounded triangle shape) was a cricut cut from our Close to My Heart Cricut Cartridges, I had in my scrap white daisy cardstock pre-cut from previously. I went around it with journalling pen and stamped the "You're the best" from the My Type of Note stamp set in black ink and put up with 3D foam tape.

Sugarplum, Eggplant & Fern Colour Dare Challenge #313

This week's challenge Color Dare #313 was to use Sugarplum, Eggplant & Fern. 

Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them.

For some reason I thought Eggplant was more red so thought red, green and purple-pink... so I pulled out my Fair Dinkum Christmas C1728. This is one of our International Stamp sets that is available in all Close to My Heart Markets but can only be ordered online (ask your consultant). I had stamped the koala, with his  Sugarplum Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad hat and the Fern sentiment before pulling out Eggplant and realising it was more purple than red. Whoops, but I made it work anyway. I stamped the presents with Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the ribbons with Fern Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. I fussy cut out my Koala and put it up on 3-D Foam Tape. I matted with Sugarplum Cardstock and Eggplant Cardstock.

Ballerina, Saffron & Peacock Colour Dare Challenge #311

This week's challenge Color Dare #311 was to use Ballerina, Saffron, Peacock with optional Gold. 

Guidelines on Neutrals:  White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use.  Unless they're listed in the challenge then you need to use them.

For me my favourite colour is Peacock and so when I was demonstrating Opaque Matte Texture Paste to my cardmaking class today (at an adult learning community centre), I grabbed the Peacock Ink. I didn't have my re-inker at class to drop a few drops of ink down on my All-Purpose Mat so I turned my ink upside down and splatted it there. I pulled some texture paste out of the tub with the long skinny Palette Knife and then moved it onto the inky section and mixed it in (as below) with the thicker palette knife. 

After I Demoed the colour blending on the mat, I showed the stencil with a little butterfly cut out, quickly moved around and smeared it again and again (without rinsing the template between). With my left over peacock coloured texture paste I just smeared it over the White Daisy cardstock I had. 

After the peacock coloured texture paste dried I cut it down slightly to be 3.75 inches x 3.75 inches. I backed it with Saffron Cardstock. I cut s 0.75 inch strip of Ballerina Cardstock and stuck on one of the saffron coloured long stickers from the Boutique Complements. 

I cut it down and kept the left over piece. Then I punched out chipboard/card hello complement from the Boutique Complements and stuck it up on 3D Foam Tape. Later I may add some ribbon or other embellishments to it but I did like the simplicity of this card. A quick texture technique and BAM a card is made. I wanted to show the ladies at the class that you could do this quickly and easily and didn't need to use up much time.

 The above card is made with 2 picture my life cards, and the reindeer button. 

The above card was made with the picture my life card 4x6  and I cut off the stitching ends to make it fit the 5.5 sized card - (see below x stitching from the PML card). Then I added the red shimmer trim and added the small half inch  section back to fit the space. I put Red Shimmer trim behind the 25 and then put the whole star in 3D foam tape. 

I really enjoyed this zip strip card. I used the x stitching from the PML card and stamped the Merry Christmas in the white spaces with red enamel gems. 

 More PML cards and I covered the title with the white Merry Christmas 3D foam tape. 

Another zip strip and some off cuts plus an M sized old style Christmas stamp and old red enamel hearts. 

The last thing I made was this page that I was so happy with. I used the off cuts and zip strips and black cardstock and Black Shimmer Trim and PML cards and some complements and some black and white stripes diagonal paper from the Cats & bats that went really well with it too. I really loved how this page turned out. Black and white doesn't have to be a christmassy page.
