I love the paper in this set, lots of it is black and white in it, so it makes such a classic easy card. There aren't many papers that are Halloween themed so its easy to change up the papers to use for various other things. I stuck with simple and elegant in this couple of cards. I don't think the photos do justice to how classy they look in person (if I do say so myself).

The card below has a the black and white stripes and some Lagoon Ink for the Thankful Title from the Thanks & Giving—October Stamp of the Month. The little black heart is from this set too. A simple easy card that was quick and effective for all the many thank you cards I tend to make and use.

October Stamp of the Month - Thanks & Giving
I really love the below card because the mix of the dots and diamond shapes looks like a mans shirt, so I'm glad to have made a more masculine card. The "pocket" shape (rounded triangle shape) was a cricut cut from our Close to My Heart Cricut Cartridges, I had in my scrap white daisy cardstock pre-cut from previously. I went around it with journalling pen and stamped the "You're the best" from the My Type of Note stamp set in black ink and put up with 3D foam tape.

Cats and Bats and Falling For You CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring this months featured packs...yes you read that correctly there are TWO packs this month. We are focusing on Workshops Your Way® Cats & Bats Scrapbooking Kit and Workshops Your Way® Falling for You Scrapbooking Kit.

If you have arrived here from Rachel Stribling - Creative Workshops By Rachel Stribling then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

We are all creating with the Cats and Bats and Falling for you, These two kits are featured by Close to My Heart in September and is available until the end of the current Seasonal Expressions Ideas Book.
#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,
I've used elements from both packs in my card projects in today's blog. I really love the black shimmer elements from the Cats & Bats Complements.
OKAY I LOVE ANYTHING WITH SHIMMER ON IT!!

I plan to use most of these complements for my kids album pages that have NOTHING to do with Halloween. I love that a lot of the papers (almost ALL) are designed in this set to be useful for so many other projects other than simply just Halloween. There is only 1 paper sheet that is clearly ONLY Halloween the rest can but used in any project! I LOVE THEM!

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,
This photo above is all the shimmery elements I love! Its hard to capture the shimmery beautifulness that is these complements. I've zoomed in as best I can to capture some of it.

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,

There were a few elements that are typical Halloween elements and I think the cute little owl that has the origami shape is a great birthday owl. It could be a good card for a male or female.

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,

This was my first card with the have a Hoot - the alphabet is from Cricut® Artfully Sent Collection (physical cartridge) pack. White Daisy Cardstock for the title and White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack for all the cards I made. I used Black Memento™ Ink Pad for all the black stamping in these projects.

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,
Then using some of the paper from both Cats & Bats and Falling for You I made this card with the  Feel So Blessed—September Stamp of the Month. This is a lovely stamp set full of thanks and gratitude and is only available to purchase in September (You can get it for only $7.50 with eligible purchase). The orange check paper from Cats & Bats goes well with the flowers and spots of the Falling for You papers. The Quote in the middle was stamped with Heather Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad. The "love this" heart is stuck on with 3-D Foam Dots.

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,

Then I did a final simple thank you card. I've been looking for more multi-gender versions of my thank you cards because often I do them with flowers and hearts and I definitely require more masculine or 'suitable for anyone' thank yous. The black and white stripe paper is from the Cats and Bats and the spots are from Falling for You. The Thanks is stamped in Black Memento™ Ink Pad directly onto the paper and the "for everything" was stamped on White Daisy Cardstock and cut out and suck on with Thin 3-D Foam Tape for a little dimension. The star from the Cats and Bats was stuck on with Tombow® Permanent Adhesive (as well as the owl) because it is easily adhered around thin edges.

#CTMHCatsandBats, #CTMHFallingForYou, halloween, thanksgiving, thank you, Thankful, gratitude, Birthday, Happy, shimmer trim, Cats, owls, Bats, Flowers, beginners, easy, cardmaking, cards, Vandra,

Simple, basic, elegant with the black and white stripes. Easily replicatable and simple for beginners.

Remember Workshops Your Way® Cats & Bats Scrapbooking Kit and Workshops Your Way® Falling for You Scrapbooking Kits are only available for a limited time. They are both lovely and I had to have them BOTH.

Jeepers Creepers Australasian Blog Hop September 2016

Welcome to our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring this months featured pack called Workshops Your Way™ Jeepers Creepers Scrapbooking Kit.

If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. We are all creating with the Workshops Your Way™ Jeepers Creepers Scrapbooking Kit.This kit is featured by Close to My Heart in September and is until the end of the current Holiday Expressions Ideas Book.
Kit contents:Monstrous Halloween Thin Cuts Bundle.

Come back to see me again soon.

5 – cardstock sheets (1 Pansy, 2 Whisper, 2 White Daisy)

Use the materials in this kit and the online instructions to create three coordinating scrapbook layouts.
Featured colors: Black, Emerald, Lagoon, Lemon, Pansy, Raspberry, Tangerine, White Daisy, Willow

I really love the Jeepers Creepers set and the

These are the cutest little monsters and I really love the themes of Harry Potter (with the lightening strikes), Halloween, Monstrous Birthday, Spooky fun, Kids birthdays, Monster Kids photos or theme park ideas.

There are so many ideas using this set and I really wanted to make lots of them, so I went to Pinterest for some ideas and I found one about spiders. I used a bit of scrap Jeepers Creepers paper with the eye balls. This is my favourite paper because you can use it for so many themes and projects. Photos of sleepovers, night time, bed bugs, plus the birthday/halloween themes.

The above paper was cut out with the Thin Cut Monster and using the scraps I cut a freehand spider body with the eyeballs.

I then took scraps of the Zip Strip (Eek! Boo!), a strip of the blue stripe paper and offcuts of Black Cardstock.

I adhered the half inch strips using Duck® Easy Stick™ Adhesive and then ruled a dotted line using the Ruler to make the "web".

I stuck on the body of the spider with the convenient eyeballs and then drew freehand the spiders legs. I think in the middle I will stamp "have a Monstrous Birthday" using the stamps above and a masking technique to cover the unwanted words.

Remember Jeepers Creepers is only available for a limited time so make sure you get it soon, so you don't miss out! Go to my website www.vandra.ctmh.com.au or your consultants website and order today.

Nevermore Paper Packet Blog Hop

Welcome to our Special Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring this months feature paper pack called Nevermore. We have all been creating with the brand NEW Nevermore Products that have been released 1st September. If you have arrived here from Patricia Manhire's Creative Corner
then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

I started with the Nevermore Paper Packet and decided I didn't want to do a typical "Halloween" page. I LOVE the old world/steam punk style of the grey pages. I created the Double-Page Layout at a recent Scrapbooking Retreat with photos taken at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast we took on a holiday last year. The photos have an "old world" look to them because they were taken at the Wild West Gold Rush Country at Dreamworld. I think they are a perfect fit for the paper.

I decided to use the stamp set that is exclusive this month called Hello, Life—Scrapbooking
we are going to do an exclusive blog post for this in a few days so watch this space and come back then to see more ideas using these stamp sets.

This is what I laid out first. I used the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock
to mat the photos and the one front photo I double-matted it. I backed in the grey paper (with the orange on the back) and sanded the edges (with the Sanding Kit) then I matted in 12" X 12" Black Cardstock. All from the Nevermore Paper Packet.

On the opposite side I did the same. 2 in 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock and 1 with the grey and 12" X 12" Black Cardstock double-mat. Then I put the zip strips from the top of the two sheets of old world Nevermore Paper Packet and decided it needed some shimmer trim. The Purple Shimmer Trim and Pink Shimmer Trim weren't  a good match for the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock so I made my own personalised shimmer trim.

I used the Silver Shimmer Trim and coloured in with the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Peony Purple Marker.
You have to be careful to wait until it dries before touching it or have a tissue handy to hold it with, or your fingers will get messy.

It is hard to get a good photo of the shimmer trim because it just reflects the light so much.

To finish the page off, I used Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the Hello, Life—Scrapbooking Stamp set for the happy and arrow and the NEW Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Pad for the circle stamp on white Daisy paper and then I fussy cut it out with the Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors.

I really love this Happy font.

To finish off the Wanted page. I made a pennant with the "Good" stamp. I added the extra stamps next to the Good to read - Good Times, Good Memories, Good Life. Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad
on the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock from the Nevermore Paper Packet.

To create the Journal Box I stamped the tag looking stamp on both sides of my piece of 12" X 12" White Daisy Cardstock with Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Pad. The white card was a little stark against the grey page, so I used Whisper Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and a Sponge Dauber to create a tea stained aged look.

NB: The whisper dauber got a purple tinge to it when stamping over the eggplant.

I was really really happy with how this page layout turned out and I really love the Nevermore Paper Packet particularly the 12" X 12" Eggplant Cardstock and Eggplant Exclusive Inks™ Pad. Even if you don't celebrate Halloween, this is a great paper pack to own and love!

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest project. I hope you get Inspired and fall in love with Nevermore like we all have. You can only get Nevermore paper during the life of the Holiday Expressions Catalogue so you only have 3 months left to buy it.
