Our Colour Dare Challenge for #456 is an Colour wheel complementary colours (opposite sides of the colour wheel), you are free to use Black, White, neutrals and gold. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #456 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

I decided to do a Green and Red colour wheel opposites. I had some red colour striped paper leftover from Stars & Sparklers Bulk Paper Packet and some green scraps from Lovely Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet plus I pulled out the Gold Foil Patterns Paper Packet and put a strip on the top of the card front from the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack.

Scrap strip of green Lovely paper (retiring soon)

Small part of gold glitter foil paper (retiring soon)

The red in the Stars and Sparklers is scarlet and I didn't have any scarlet ink so I did some colour matching of other reds in my retiring inks. I also tried the Candied Apple Distress Oxide™ Ink Pad but it was too orange-based for Scarlett. I found that Cranberry was the closest to Scarlet (not exact but close enough). I used the old cranberry to ink the edges of the whole card, then I cut a white daisy Stitched Square Frames Thin Cuts
and sponged all that plus edges of a pre-cut white daisy heart that was in my white scraps.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, gold foil, special, glitter, stitched thin cuts, hearts, #ctmhlovely, colour wheel, #ctmhStarsandSparklers, sponging, retiring, Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary, color dare,
I also found a pre-cut circle in Gold Glitter Paper to place inside the square and used 3D foam tape to adhere the heart to the glitter paper.

I stamped an old sentiment from an old stamp set and cut the white daisy very fine and adhered it directly to the heart.

I'm sad to see so many of my favourite things go from the annual catalogue but I'm excited to see new things coming 1st September!!

Colour Dare #428 Recipe 1+1+1

#CTMHVandra, #ctmhPerfectMatch, shutter card, penguin, happy birthday, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, gold foil, cricut, CTMH Cricut, Candy Apple, thin cuts, alphabet,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #428 is a fun Recipe Challenge. You need 1 Neutral, 1 Metallic or Glitter (Silver/Gold/Copper) and 1 colour choice... with Black & White free to use. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #428 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram). So join in TODAY!!

I wanted to use the new special Perfect Match Workshop Kit
so I choose the Black and Candy Apple colour, as my Neutral and Colour. So 1+1 Chosen.
#CTMHVandra, #ctmhPerfectMatch, shutter card, penguin, happy birthday, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, gold foil, cricut, CTMH Cricut, Candy Apple, thin cuts, alphabet,
Then I needed some Metallic so I pulled out Gold Foil Patterns Paper Packet

#CTMHVandra, #ctmhPerfectMatch, shutter card, penguin, happy birthday, Colour Dare Challenge, color dare, gold foil, cricut, CTMH Cricut, Candy Apple, thin cuts, alphabet,

So my 1 Neutral = Black
1 Metallic = Gold Foil pattern
1 colour = Candy Apple.
1+1+1
(White is my free colour)

I really wanted to make a card from Lisa Stenz's Video on Valentines Day Shutter Cards. (Click Here to get link to her video with cricut design space file).

I got myself a Cricut Maker last year and only started playing with it just before Christmas, and I had to get myself a scoring tool. I needed it to cut the Shutter Card with Lisa's design space file. I got so excited when I got the scoring tool and could use it at the same time as the cutting. This is the best feature of the Cricut Maker.

I had the paper, the cricut design space file and the idea to make my nephew his birthday card. It's hard to photograph the card I made with the shutter function.

I used the white as the card base, candy apple red for internal parts, Candy Apple Gingham from perfect match from the front. The internal red circle spare to use on the front, black xo paper from Perfect Match for the two 1's I cut out using Classic Alphabet Thin Cuts and Gold Stripe paper from the Gold Foil patterns. I used 3-D Foam Tape on the front and internal parts and Dual-tip Permanent Glue Pen.

I stamped the Swirly Happy Birthday (M sized stamp set that everyone should get) & Winter Penguins Stamp + Thin Cuts in Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad.

Firstly I have to say the Complements in the Tis the Season pack are STUNNING!! Gold foil, Red shimmer, gold in the stickers and die-cuts. So pretty. Almost too good to want to use.

For this card I started with scraps. This set the PML cut out cards are different from one side to the next (not all but some are different) so the naughty or Nice title card has a different background. Most of our other PML papers have just had the design repeated on the reverse in either Portrait or Landscape orientation, these and a few of the packs in this current catalogue have some different titles and things on the cards, from one side to the other. This is exciting to me to have some with little titles and some plain.
I covered the base of my White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack card at 4 x 5.25 with the Linen spot paper. on that I put the "Dear Santa"and Joy PML cards (I cut down the joy one slightly).  The pic below shows a tiny bit of the differences of the PML cards.
Christmas, #CTMHVandra, #CTMHTisTheSeason, Dear Santa, Santa, PML, cardmaking, Ribbon, Gold, gold foil, blog hop, complements,
I think this little title is cute so I wanted to use it on a card. I used the mini stapler to attach it to my Linen background and the White & Gold Skinny Ribbon was attached behind with Glue Dots® Ultra-thin Dots. I stuck Red Pearls on the naughty and nice spots (I was going to only put it on the naughty spot but thought maybe I've been a little naughty and a little nice too).
I tied a gold ribbon for the vase PML card and the side.

Christmas, #CTMHVandra, #CTMHTisTheSeason, Dear Santa, Santa, PML, cardmaking, Ribbon, Gold, gold foil, blog hop, complements,

Workshops Your Way® Beary Christmas

Product Description

Kit contents:
1 – Beary Christmas Complements (X7225C)
6 – cardstock sheets (2 Cranberry, 1 Fern, 3 White Daisy)
1 – Beary Christmas Dots (Z4038)
1 – Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799)
Beary Christmas is such a sweet Christmas set and the matching Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts is the cutest!! I was excited to hear that these cute animals are especially designed with Australia in mind - they don't have scarves on!

A work colleague commissioned me to make some Mumma Bear cards for his mum and I really loved making this one. Colouring in with the ShinHan Markers on the Thin Cuts was fun.

The card below I used the Thin Cuts—Tree Line Border with the new Gold Foil Paper and then the Merry Everything stamp set.

The below card was made at our consultant Launch of the Seasonal Expressions Catalogue. The glittery cheer comes from the Silver & Gold Complements. I really love the way it shows the new style double sided cardstock.

Remember Workshops Your Way® Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Kit is only available for a limited time. Go to my website www.vandra.closetomyheart.com.au or your consultants website and order today.

Christmas Tunes Australasian Stamp of the Month Blog Hop S1710

Welcome to our Australasian Blog Hop. We have all been creating with the "Christmas Tunes—October Stamp of the Month" Stamp set. If you have arrived here from Doris Taylor - Creative Inspirations then you are in the right place. If you landed here another way, please join in by following the link at the end of this post. Follow the links, check out all the amazing ideas and eventually you'll come right back here to where you started.

Today I would like to share with you my project which features the Christmas Tunes—October Stamp of the Month available exclusively throughout October 2017 for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75.

#CTMHSilverandGold, Silver, Gold, gold foil, Christmas, S1710, Stamp of the Month, bauble, trees, wreath, banner, reindeer, hearts, shimmer trim, shimmer Gems, pearls, Vandra
This is clearly your 2017 go to Christmas Stamp set for all your Christmas Cards! I am away for a few days with my kids on School Holidays so I brought a Workshop your Way, some White cards and envelopes, a few basic ink colours, a few acrylic blocks and some adhesives. I am pretty happy with the Christmas cards I made with these limitations.

The first thing I did was get some Christmas colours out - red and green (Willow Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and Ruby Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad) NB: the Ruby pictured below is in the old format and no longer comes like this.

#CTMHSilverandGold, Silver, Gold, gold foil, Christmas, S1710, Stamp of the Month, bauble, trees, wreath, banner, reindeer, hearts, shimmer trim, shimmer Gems, pearls, Vandra
Then I stamped the pretty wreath in Willow Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and the Title Banner in Ruby Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on White Daisy Cardstock.

I have the Workshops Your Way® Silver & Gold Scrapbooking Kit and firstly cut out all the pieces to make the pages and cards and had one of the card bases for Project 6 in the cutting guide. I usually make up my cards out of the "scraps" from the kits after making all the projects. But the project 6 makes 3 cards so I used the base and made my card below. You can find the instructions for all the kits on my website www.vandra.closetomyheart.com.au or on your consultants website, with specific instruction guide is with the Silver & Gold Workshops your Way kit.

This kit is one of my favourites because so much of it isn't christmassy.  Almost ALL of the papers can be used for non-christmas pages and cards. Anyway I had the card base for Project 6 and I used it for the card I made below.

To make the shimmer paper backing (as I didn't have my glitter paper stash with me), I did have the Black Shimmer Trim and Gold Shimmer Trim (the gold comes in the kit) and I used a larger piece of White daisy card stock (half inch wider) and covered the edges in Black Shimmer Trim. I matted the Wreath on top with 3-D Foam Tape and then the larger glitter on the bottom with Thin 3-D Foam Tape. To give it extra dimension. I do love where the "I Love Christmas" on the paper came out on the card.

#CTMHSilverandGold, Silver, Gold, gold foil, Christmas, S1710, Stamp of the Month, bauble, trees, wreath, banner, reindeer, hearts, shimmer trim, shimmer Gems, pearls, Vandra

Next I used one of the Reindeer Zip Stips to edge the bottom of the card below. I stamped with Ruby Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad the Merry & Bright bauble onto one of the Picture My Life cards from the kit. Then I matted it with the dark side of the Pewter Cardstock that came inside the Workshop your way kit with Tombow® Permanent Adhesive. A very basic card but I'm happy with how it turned out. I really like grey as a Christmas neutral colour!

#CTMHSilverandGold, Silver, Gold, gold foil, Christmas, S1710, Stamp of the Month, bauble, trees, wreath, banner, reindeer, hearts, shimmer trim, shimmer Gems, pearls, Vandra

Last month I made some cards using the Gold Foil Hearts from this kit to make the "You're in my Heart" card with the special National Stamping Day Special Stamp set, for a consultant swap and as sympathy cards for sale (see below). Using Gold Shimmer Trim and Bashful Pearls.

#CTMHSilverandGold, Silver, Gold, gold foil, Christmas, S1710, Stamp of the Month, bauble, trees, wreath, banner, reindeer, hearts, shimmer trim, shimmer Gems, pearls, Vandra
I loved how this turned out and I still had some of this lovely gold foil hearts paper cut to size and so I decided to use that same pattern to make a Christmas Tree card. I stamped in Willow Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and used Gold Shimmer Trim and Gold Glitter Gems from the kit to spruce up the card.

This is a great card to use some of the beautiful foil heart paper but only 1-2 inches at a time (1.5 or 1.75 I think) x 4.25 inches... getting lots of cards out of one stunning paper sheet.

Please note: I found photographing the gold foil difficult both times I took pics of it (above last month and below today), so I do apologise for the quality of the photos. I hope you still get the gist of what I made.

#CTMHSilverandGold, Silver, Gold, gold foil, Christmas, S1710, Stamp of the Month, bauble, trees, wreath, banner, reindeer, hearts, shimmer trim, shimmer Gems, pearls, Vandra
