Colour Dare #450 Peacock inspiration choose 3

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, peacock, Distress Oxide, Rainbow, sunburst, Congratulations, thin cuts, embossing, cardmaking,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #450 is a Choose at lease 3 colours from the inspiration video and you are free to use Black & White. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #450 and add your entry. When you submit your entry you must provide a link to your post, not just to your blog in general. There are LOTS of ways to enter either a Blog Post or post to an online gallery (Facebook, Pinterest, SplitCoast Stampers, or Instagram).

I started with a peice of daisy white cardstock and embossed it with a star embossing folder and then used distress oxides - Mustard Seed, Peacock feathers and picked raspberry to make a rainbow blending them together.

Then I layered a blue card thin cut using the Sunburst thin cut. I stamped a Congrats on white daisy and matted it with the blue and cut into a pennant shape. I adhered with 3D foam tape.

Colour Dare #448 Choose at least 3

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, chemistry, b1485, retired, proton, positive, beaker, science, physics, 3D Foam, watercolour brushes, painting with ink, teacher, appreciation,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #448 is a Choose at lease 3 colours from those above and you are free to use Black, White & Gold. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #448 and add your entry. So join in TODAY!!

To start this card I pulled out all the colours of ink that came to hand, which ended up being Almond, Charcoal, Desert Rose, and Sage. Then I pulled out the cardstock too.

My son asked me to make a card for his physics teacher who is going on long service leave so he needed a card TOMORROW...luckily I needed to create some artwork for Colour Dare Design Team. I remembered I had an old stamp set with science stuff on it and I checked my Evernote and it is called Positive Chemistry Everyday Life (B1485). I love having my stamps categorised. I don't have them all in there but its a work in progress.

RETIRED STAMP SET- Positive Chemistry Everyday Life (B1485).

The physics teacher was the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) for Science so we decided a bit of chemistry on the card would be okay too...

I decided to stamp three beakers in Charcoal Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and then I used the other colours of ink to paint with the Medium Round Waterbrush. To get ink into the lid you press down on the ink while its closed and get some ink in the lid... then use your watercolour brush to pick up the ink and paint it onto the cardstock. I had used Charcoal Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad not a watercolour permanent ink so I knew it might bleed so I was careful and it did bleed a tiny bit. I was okay with that it made it look more watercoloured and kind of chemical look to the beakers... like oooh it might explode at any second that unknown chemical compound :)

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, chemistry, b1485, retired, proton, positive, beaker, science, physics, 3D Foam, watercolour brushes, painting with ink, teacher, appreciation,

Then I matted the white cardstock with charcoal cardstock (dark side) then I matted that with desert rose cardstock.

I used sage and almond ink to random stamp the edge of the white card base and then used 3D foam tape to raise the middle section up. I rotated the cell stamp and stamped on and off the card base to get a more organic look to the random stamping.

I hope you pull out some old stamps once in a while and use with your more modern colours and techniques.

I needed to make my father in law an 80th birthday card so jumped into Cricut design space and created an 80th birthday card. I grabbed a font that I liked. (I don't even remember which font). Then I changed the letter space to put the 8 and 0 touching, so close I think it went into the negative. Then I copied and pasted and flipped the 80 over and overlapped it a little. I added a couple of score lines and made it as big as would fit on a cricut mat (piece of cardstock). I then duplicated the whole 80 again and then cut it in half and deleted the parts I didn't need and recoloured the blue section for the front of the card. Then to get the yellow section I used the new offset feature in cricut design space and went into the negative to get an inside shape. This is an awesome new feature that makes things SOooo much easier to create additional layers on your project. Then I added the Lets Party banner from the Cricut® Flower Market Digital Collection. Let's party was a bit of a cheeky thing to write but we were all heading over to Rottnest (An island off the coast of Western Australia that has the only colony of cute Australian mammals called Quokka's), for a whole weekend so I thought "let's party" was kind of appropriate. The photo of him opening the card was taken on the Rottnest Ferry (the boat that takes people to the island, its a 45 minute ride).

Colour Dare #444 Tic Tac Toe - You are Enough

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #444 is a Tic-Tac-Toe of the You are Enough papers that are only available during May 2021. They're really stunning papers. You can use these colours plus black and white for this challenge. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. I LOVE this You are Enough special for National Scrapbooking Month. The colours of the papers including Rose Gold are so stunning but hard to photograph.

To make my card I pulled out the Make It from Your Heart Volume 5. The pattern called for 1.25 inch blocks in Sangria Cardstock so I added a slightly smaller block of the glacier and rose gold hexagon paper from the You Are Enough Product Bundle
#CTMHVandra, CTMH You are Enough, Colour dare, rose gold, TicTacToe, Sangria, Congratulations, National Scrapbooking Month, Make it from Your Heart,
Did the stamping in Black ink on white daisy cardstock and matted again on Sangria cardstock. Finished off the card with the stickers of the branches from the sticker sheet and to make them stick up a little I put Anti-static Pouch on half of the branch. The Congratulations stamp is an old retired stamp set and I used thin 3D foam tape to have a bit of dimension on the title.

Colour Dare #442 Choose at least 3 colours

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #442 is a Choose at least 3 colours.  You are also permitted to use Black, White, Greys + Metallic and Glitters. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. I chose Blue Belle, Sapphire & Wisteria as my three colours and the card I ended up with almost looks monochromatic even with these three colours used, so they are a perfect compliment to each other. Plus white is my free to use colour.

I grabbed out my scraps of sapphire print from the Mix-in Paper Packet (Jul–Aug) which is still available to purchase. To put in the middle - I didn't measure the sizes this was literally just scraps.
#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,
Then I grabbed my tiny amount of scraps of blue belle patterned paper from Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet for the top section. The skinny diagonal stripe is a sticker too. I put Sapphire Cardstock on the bottom of the card.
#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,

I stamped Wisteria Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad with the Mother Days sentiment from a previous Stamp of the Month and stamped the wisteria onto a white daisy cardstock circle I had already cut (watch out next month for new thin cut circles!! this one is an old retired Thin Cut but I'm sure its a similar size to the new ones!). The heart stamps are also from that stamp set. Its called Time to Celebrate Stamp of the Month S2005 (SOTM May 2020) pictured below.
#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Mothers Day, cardmaking, blue belle, blue, thin cuts, scraps, dots, stickers, #ctmhHappinessLivesHere,mix-in paper packet, stamping, Stamp of the Month, hearts,
The two branches are stickers from the Happiness Lives Here Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet and I finished it off with white dots from the Black & White Dots embellishments.

I know blues aren't traditionally mothers day card colours but I wanted something that men could give their mothers without being too overly flowery.

I love that this was made with essentially my scraps and leftovers. I love to make cards to use up all the paper I have from each paper pack I hate being leftover with lots of paper.

Colour Dare #440 Crazy 8

#CTMHVandra,Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, Rainbow, thin cuts, clouds, mix-in paper packet, cardstock, thinking of you, cardmaking, crazy 8, masking, stamping

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #440 is a Crazy 8 square. You pick four of the squares and you are permitted to use Black & White. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #440 and add your entry. So join in TODAY!!

Most of these colours come from Daisy Meadows Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet but I chose to use mostly cardstock to make my card.

I grabbed out my brand new Build-a-Rainbow Thin Cuts. Then I pulled out

Glacier CardstockPeacock CardstockDesert Rose CardstockSundance Cardstock, and the peach paper from the Mix-in Paper Packet (Jul–Aug). A lot of these colours are found in the Daisy Meadows Coordinating Cardstock.

I used washi tape and stuck the 4 parts of the rainbow together and cut it out 4 times in each of the below colours and mixed and matched them to get 4 different rainbows. I used two of them in my two cards but have 2 left for next cards. I changed around the pattern a bit too.

For the title I grabbed the After the Rain stamp (on sale April 2021) but didn't want to use the rainbow on it, just the sentiment. So I had to create a mask to just get the words to put on my cloud. I grabbed a sticky note that is sticky all over and stamped on it and cut out the words. Then I stamped over the mask to get the title for the cloud. I had cut some Glacier clouds first but it was too hard to line up the title cause I couldn't see through so I stamped first and then ran the cloud thin cut through my big shot.  I used Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad

#CTMHVandra,Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, Rainbow, thin cuts, clouds, mix-in paper packet, cardstock, thinking of you, cardmaking, crazy 8, masking, stamping
Hopefully the photo below will show my process.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, Rainbow, thin cuts, clouds, mix-in paper packet, cardstock, thinking of you, cardmaking, crazy 8, masking, stamping

I was happy with the final projects. On the other card I grabbed out a "thinking of you" stamp set that is retired and didn't use clouds.

#CTMHVandra, Colour dare, Colour Dare Challenge, Rainbow, thin cuts, clouds, mix-in paper packet, cardstock, thinking of you, cardmaking, crazy 8, masking, stamping

To adhere the rainbow, I used Dual-tip Permanent Glue Pen, and to  finish the rainbow off, I added a couple of Bitty Sparkles

Colour Dare #438 Easter Inspiration

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #438 is an Easter Inspiration Photo. You can use any of the colours in the photos plus you are permitted to use Black, White, Neutrals & Glitter. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. Most importantly - have fun!  Go to the link for Colour Dare #438 and add your entry. So join in TODAY!!

My creative process for this blog was started a week earlier when I was cutting some Easter card designs for my Joey Scouts to create with. I grabbed a whole heap of my older retired colours and cut out Easter Cards on design space. I found this cute Easter egg cut out card on my CTMH Cricut® Artfully Sent Digital Collection

I cut lots of these out because I wanted to have a selection of colours for them to choose, knowing that I could make them up myself afterwards with any left over.

I kept all the internal parts that I cut out so I was easily able to fill the tiny eggs with other colours of eggs that I had pre-cut. That was the hardest part because of the zig-zag chevron part above it, I had to put a white backing on it and cut out the triangle sections.

Then I added offcuts and scraps of my last Blossom Bundle & Blossom Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet. After I completed the layering, I covered the internal mess of scraps with a solid white cardstock.

This card is an easy card to make and customise to whatever paper scraps you have. A great way to use up scrap papers.

I felt artistic with my photography, so got a bit creative with Easter eggs and bunny ears.

I hope you have a happy Easter and relaxing long weekend (we get 4 days off in Australia - depending on your line of work), regardless of your beliefs I hope you can enjoy some crafting time.

Thanks so much for dropping by to check out my latest project. Hope you can join in the Colour My Heart Colour Dare Challenge #438 too. I'm really interested to hear what you think about my card, so I'd love you to leave a comment. See you again soon, subscribe to my blog so you don't miss a challenge.
