Colour Dare #480 Wisteria, Wild Berry and Capri

 

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #480 is Wisteria, Wild Berry & Capri challenge, you are free to use Black, White, and Greys. I pulled out my Party Gnomes Stamp + Thin Cuts and decided to colour the girl gnome (I had pre-cut some extra shapes last time I made a card so it was quick to stamp and colour with a pre-cut shape - I didn't need to pull out my bigshot die-cutting machine). I used the 

Bright Pink TriBlend™ Marker and the Purple TriBlend™ Marker to attempt to make Wildberry to colour the gnomes dress and hat. I think I got pretty close. The balloon at the front was fussy cut out using Wild Berry Cardstock and the ribbon is Wild Berry Stitched Ribbon. 

The lighter balloon is Wisteria Cardstock light side of the cardstock fussy cut and the darker balloon is the purple pen trying to create the darker shade of wisteria. The white glisten on the balloons is made using the White Gel Pens. The grey pens for hair and shoes are 

Ice Grey TriBlend™ Marker and Brown Grey TriBlend™ Marker.

To create the background I cut some Capri Cardstock at 4.25 inches wide (the size of the White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack cards). Then I ripped the cardstock and laid it down on the cardbase alternating the sides of the cardstock (dark/light). Then I added a strip of capri cardstock at the bottom to cover the last of the white and to ensure that the bottom and top of the card were straight and not ripped. 

I glued on the Wild Berry Stitched Ribbon with Adhesive Tape and then added the Happy Birthday stamp. To attach the gnome I used 3-D Foam Tape. 

It was hard to photograph as the colours didn't seem to go true to colour... I did try edit the photo but it still isn't true to colour.

Colour Dare #478 Neutrals plus one colour

I chose Green Apple to go with my neutrals. I pulled out the cutest stamp and thin cut set called Party Gnomes Stamp + Thin Cuts

I coloured the cute chocolate cake with a bunch of the Tri-blend markers from mostly the Essential Blends Marker Bundle. (pictured the pens I used). 

To add the wording I cut a peice of White Daisy Cardstock and cut to size. Then I grabbed all the words on the and arranged them on the block to fit the paper size. I used Green Apple Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad to stamp them. Then I added the Green Apple Cardstock around the white daisy. 

The card base was created with Kraft Paper because its a neutral colour. I used the off cut of the Silver Glitter Paper that was cut using Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts. The Birthday sticker was from an older sticker set with green apple. I used 3D foam tape. 

This is what I gave my husband for his birthday this week.

Colour Dare #474 Choose three

Our Colour Dare Challenge for #474 is a choose at least 3 of the above colours, you are free to use Black, White, Gold & Copper. When you are creating for more than one challenge please make sure your project meets our requirement. I chose Papaya, Avocado and Harbour. I pulled out the Love Story Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet (Black) with that gorgeous black and white flowers and decided to colour it. Its a "wedding" pack with the stickers but without the stickers its a great every use paper pack and great for colouring. 

I cut it to 3.75x 5 inches and I grabbed out the Close to My Heart guide that shows the CTMH colours of cardstock and the Triblend Markers equivalent. So the avocado is Alpine Green TriBlend™ Marker -light and Dull Green TriBlend™ Marker - medium x3. (see pic below)

FYI: Contact me if you'd like a copy of the PDF of the cardstock matching CTMH cardstock with the Triblend Markers as shown below (its 3 pages and you cut a 1 inch circle of cardstock and then colour in with triblend markers to make the matching colours). 

Unfortunately the guide hasn't got the new colours in yet so I pulled out the triblend marker colours to find the closest to the Papaya (which is new).  

I decided Coral TriBlend™ Marker was closest and used those three colours to colour in the petals and flowers. 

Note: The darker coral pen isn't a good match (too dark) so I only used the lightest coral and I covered that first one up with the cardstock and thanks title. 

To finish off the card I cut a peice of  Harbour Cardstock at 4x5.25 inches and an off-cut strip leftover which is about half an inch ish. Then I stamped the THANKS with Daisy Alphabet stamps using Papaya Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad on White Daisy Cardstock  and trimmed it to size and then matted it in Harbour Cardstock. 

All attached to a White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack card with a white edge.

Colour Dare #472 Crazy 8

I saw this colour dare challenge and saw that there was Gold and silver and thought about glitter paper. Then I realised that I had Papaya Glitter Paper, and Sapphire Glitter Paper. You can buy all the glitter paper in the Glitter Paper Bundle. 

I knew I needed to make a special card for this colour dare because it was my nieces 18th birthday. Her name is Sapphire and I saw Sapphire colour in this challenge and thought... PERFECT!

So I decided to make it a bit more special and use the Slimline Cards & Envelopes. That longer size is a big more special. 

I cut the Papaya Glitter Paper, and Sapphire Glitter Paper into 3/4 inch strips and the Gold Glitter Paper & Silver Glitter Paper into 1/2 inch strips and used the new Air Touch Adhesive along the card to complete the stripes. I cut off the overhang on the Aluminum Cut Rail Paper Trimmer. 

I finished the card off with White Daisy Cardstock and  Classic Alphabet Thin Cuts

that I added on top of the glitter paper with 3-D Foam Tape.

Colour Dare #470 TicTacToe Candid Moments

I needed to make a 21st Birthday card for a friend and so I pulled out Peach Cardstock and my beautiful new Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder. I put it through and it wasn't showing up enough (too subtle) so I pulled out the Sapphire Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad and Round Sponge and sponged the sapphire ink onto the top of the peach cardstock to have the pattern show out.

Then I put a section of Peach cardstock across the centre and a small strip of Sapphire Cardstock. I used Gold Glitter Paper and Classic Alphabet Thin Cuts to cut the 21 on my Big Shot machine. The sticker to finish off is "Special Day" shown below from Candid Moments Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet.

I LOVE this new embossing folder.

Colour Dare #468 Inspiration Image

This image brings back lots of memories for me as I had these on a doona cover and some curtains when I was really small (*ahem* like 35yrs ago). 

I made a quick and simple card for this challenge as I was required to make a bunch of thank you cards for my son's teachers for his last day of school before his Year 12 Graduation. This card I made was for one of the music teachers. 

I picked out Dark Blue (Sapphire from the retired Wander collection with the white stars - you could create this look with sapphire cardstock and our new white White Gel Pens), then I picked light Blue (I chose Carolina Cardstock) and the brown, so I chose the new Mocha Cardstock. To get some tone-on-tone stamping I used an old stamp set with some music notes on it and random stamped all over the Mocha cardstock. I don't have the Mocha ink yet so I pulled out the reitred Nutmeg ink and they worked quite well together. I put an R in texta on the front of my ink pads that have retired so I know its an old colour but it still works well with current Mocha. 

After doing stripes of each of the 3 main inspiration colours I decided to do a little gnome sign. I picked the gnome from the Mini Garden Gnomes Stamp + Thin Cuts from the Slimline Celebration Cardmaking Workshop Kit.

I coloured him with triblend markers in Fair Skin TriBlend™ Marker for his face and hands, Earth Brown TriBlend™ Marker for his boots and belt, True Blue TriBlend™ Marker for his hat and clothes and the lightest and mid tones of the Ice Grey TriBlend™ Marker for the bird.
